Excellent product. Works very well.
This product worked very well for me. I purchased this and Meguiar's DMCKIT6 DA Microfiber Correction System Kit. It was purchased to attempt to correct a 9-year old, weathered and damaged metallic black with clearcoat finish. I used the correction kit with this to successfully correct most of the paint issues on my car. The polisher performed flawlessly. Compared to a traditional high speed buffer it is much easier to use and much safer/friendlier to paint. The digital torque load management and ramping startup speed is different than a regular buffer or grinder, but actually part of the magic of why this polisher effectively buffs/polishes yet with little risk to paint, corners, edges, or trim. It is relatively light weight for what it is. It is built well, and looks easy to maintain. It even comes with spare brushes which can be quickly changed. If I could add three things to this, it would be 1) slightly longer cord (still used with an extension), spring-loaded handle fasteners with quick locks so the handle can rotate without loosening/tightening, and a nice case. These are minor convenience improvements only though. I am happy with the results from using this. The product performed quite well. I highly recommend it and the paint correction kit if needed.

Meguiar's NEW DA is Here!
Meguiar's has added another arrow to their quiver of outstanding Detailing Tools! This item came exactly as advertised and performed exactly as I expected. Great soft start function, very comfortable in my hands, and performed like a professional grade tool should. I ordered the DBP5, 5" backing plate with it as this is my preferred pad size. I would recommend that you order the backing plate & pad size of your choice as it does not come with a pad or backing plate. Most users have their preferred backing plate size already in their detailing bag but in case you don't be sure to order a backing plate and pads. I started by washing the car to remove loose contaminant and then moved to the Meguiar's G1016 Smooth Surface Clay kit to remove any bonded contaminant. I then used the Meguiar's DMCKIT5 DA Microfiber Correction System Kit to do some defect removal as I had some rather significant scratches in the clear coat. The DA Microfiber Correction Compound used with the New MT300 performed very well, removing the scratches and swirls in my black paint quickly. The finishing wax in the kit put just the right final touches on my paint creating incredible dark, swirl free reflectivity in the paint which took no time at all with the MT300 and the DA Microfiber wax pad. For my next project I will be ordering the new Meguiar's DFC5, 5" DA Foam Cutting Disc and the new DFP5, 5" DA Foam polishing Disk. It will be nice to compare these new foam pads to the DA Microfiber pads that I love. I also love the new backing plates that have the white indicator line that shows you if the pad is still spinning or if you are applying too much pressure while working the machine. I highly recommend Meguiar's new MT300 Pro Power DA Polisher.

Up, down, left, right, circle, square
I am not as impressed with this one as I was and still am with the original polisher made by Meguiars. Ive had the original for 6 or so years and its just now starting to die, which I believe all I would need are the motor brushes and it would return to life. This model however seems to perform more erratically for me, as I can set it to 3800 RPM and with no load can tell there is a distinct speed difference with every other time the trigger is squeezed. Its a decent polisher, and its handling the task when I use it but I get the feeling after just 4 details the motor shouldnt seem like its already dying. Maybe I got a defective motor, or the torque management system was damaged during shipping, I dont know. Ive definitely tested it thoroughly. It does work, and Im sure if it werent for the odd fluctuation i experience it would work and feel better, but I still use the original one as much as I can due to feeling more consistent control. UPDATE: I am one that likes to tinker with things that don't feel right until they're either completely boned, or right on the money. If it's boned, I toss it. This one, I felt boned when mid-detail, the entire thing just died on me. I checked every possible outside solution I could, and had left my first-gen Meguiars polisher at home because the current job was just a quickie and it's been slowing down after 7 years of use (99% chance it's just needing motor brushes to replace). I was left with just a couple options... I could put it away for the time, finish the job by hand, and send it to an unknown technician in a 'qualified' service center, or I could perform an exploratory surgery. I probably violated the warranty, but considering this one was frustrating me from the start, and now I mostly fixed the issue and know what its guts look like up close, who cares? Screw sending it to a technician where they could be working on it for any number of days, which are days it's not working for me bringing in money. Thankfully, my bold choice was rewarded, and instead of boning it, I got it right on the money. Very carefully, pulling one piece at a time off and putting them down in order, taking pictures now and then to make sure I had it right for reassembly... Completely dismantled, and not one thing appeared to be damaged, it was pristine. I felt stumped, but then I remembered if I put pressure on the power coord over its shielding that connects to the unit, before it would give me erratic oscillation. So, I cut that SOB right open, and low and behold, the negative wire was nearly sheered in half. I don't know how this happened, even the guard over that particular spot was flawless in form and left no explanation. I quickly re-wired it, took a deep breath and plugged it in, AND LIFE HAS COME TO MY POLISHER AT LAST! I still get that variable in power occasionally, where a 3800 rockets up to 5800, but it's brief, and only when I actually have pressure on the head now. So, I fixed the polisher, no technician or nothing, and am only about 6" shorter on power coord. Now I can say I'm more impressed with this thing, but still can only give it 4 stars due to the immediate defect I had spent months wondering if I was crazy about. So, for anyone who's had similar issues with theirs, gut it right by the trigger, that unit comes off separate from the motor housing, and check your positive and negative for any splits. It's a simple fix, just unplug it first so you don't kill yourself.

Muy buen precio

Surprisingly powerful, easy to use. I've used several orbital and rotary polishers before and this one is fantastic. Even when applying heavy pressure for paint correction it didn't slow down, and kept constant speed. Was very easy to use without leaving any swirl marks or buffer trails. Meguiars also does a great job of lining their products up in consumer and professional lines with easy to follow guides. Very easy to select polishes, waxes and accessories to go with this polisher. Worth the money

Very happy with this guy so far. Due to getting it late in the season I've only used it once so far. But I can say it's made detailing much much easier. Look forward to using it again in the spring.
