The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Hinduism

Useless book!! I bought the same in order to gain some insight but terribly disappointing.

An unbelievably rich and deep book that covers all of the intricacies and varying aspects of Hinduism. It appears as just a coffee table book, but besides being gorgeous and packed with illustrations, it has extremely in-depth scholarship while being very readable. It is a series of stand-alone articles that may be read at random, or the book may be read from cover to cover. Whichever way you approach it, it will give you a rock-solid view of what Hinduism's all about. Can't be recommended highly enough. If you have any interest in Hinduism, start with this book. A visual, mental, and spiritual delight.

I'm still reading this book. However I got it due to knowing next to nothing about Hinduism. A least I know more now than before I started reading.

I bought this for my daughter who is thinking about changing her religion to Hinduism. She loves it. It arrived quickly & the book is beautiful. I decided on this book because it packs all of the information into easy to read articles.

Had a brief idea on Hinduism before hand as it’s a religion/ way of life that really appeals to me and this beautifully colourful and very large, book filled in the majority of the rest. The Vedas are next on the Liz for me.

A huge book filled with gorgeous pictures, excellent text, and chock full of information. I can not say one bad thing about this book. Essential to any Hindu and/or Religious Studies library.
