Great stuff! You just spray this cleaner on the hat and it foams. Spray the hat till the hats surface is covered in foam and wait till the hat is dry and what you see is all the dirt that was down deep in the surface now sitting on the surface of the hat. At first I thought, oh man its ruined! But not so. The next step was just brushing the surface down and all that dirt is gone. You literally get to see the dirt in the hat get brushed away. I think this works like a dry cleaning process, but not sure....At any rate it does work amazingly well. Highly recommended for a clean hat. Just follow up with the water repellent and you're good to go.

Not to effective

I used it on my favorite black hat first cause it was getting a little gray Sprayed it on let it dry brush it off and the hat looks much better back to Black even I would say Then I used it on my camo hat. It’s an old hat, but I love it and I used this product on it and it cleaned it and also brought the colors back to life.

I used this product on my Stetson fur felt Gun Club fedora that I have owned for 19 years. The hat still looked good but looked like it could use a bit of a cleaning. There was a small stain on the bottom of the brim and a light discoloration at the pinch of the crown from years of handling but nothing very noticeable. I sprayed a small amount on the underside of the brim as a test and it seemed ok. Continuing to follow the directions I sprayed the entire hat and let it dry. Unfortunately this product stained and ruined my favorite fedora. Brushing it afterwards didn’t help even a second brushing with steam. I used a top quality German hat brush. I’m no rookie to fedoras, I have an extensive collection of top quality fur felt fedoras. The photos show the staining this product left on the hat. This is an awful product. Don’t ever use it on any quality hat you own! This stuff is so awful it even damaged a second fedora. I brushed a favorite new hat for some surface dust with the brush I had used with this “cleaner”. There was residue remaining in the brush and it stained the new hat. This one is still wearable as I noticed it quickly but is no longer a dress hat because if this toxic junk. Avoid this horrible product.
