Great for natural gas generators
I got this regulator to connect my outside generator to my house natgural gas line. It worked great and does exactly what it is supposed to do. The setup was simple and the build feels solid. One thing I did change was the NPT vent protector. I replaced the original one with a version that is rain and weather-proof since the unit is sitting outside. Overall, it’s a reliable part and I’m happy with how it performs.

Does exactly what it's designed to do
This Maxitrol 5L pressure regulator has been working great for our setup. We’re running a pretty demanding 250,000 BTU tankless water heater, and this regulator handles it without any issues. It’s able to take the higher incoming house pressure, around 2 PSI, and step it down precisely to the correct pressure needed at the water heater inlet. The performance has been consistent and reliable, with no noticeable fluctuations or supply issues even under heavy demand. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and gives confidence that the system is getting the proper gas flow safely and efficiently. Overall, a solid and dependable regulator that works great for high BTU applications.

Problem Solved
Could not get the heater to work until I put the new regulator in and it took right off. It’s worked fine ever since it’s been in there three weeks now.
