Worked Well on 1999 Subaru Impreza
Worked well for replacing a burnt driver side socket. Took a little time to figure out what wire goes where after taking apart the original headlight sockets. For those with a similar vehicle to mine if your wires are the same color. Passenger headlight: OEM ~ Dorman Red ~ Red Blue/White ~Black Yellow/Blue ~ Blue Driver Headlight: Red ~ Red Red/Blue ~ Black Yellow/Blue ~ Blue

Color and gauge info
I'm modding a 25-yr old Ford van with new wiring and relays, and needed new sockets because the originals were fragile. Fat chance you're going to find a supplier that actually lists their wire size or color pinouts or the temperature rating. (Temp rating later found on the package, backside). For comparision I have in my possession a lot of wire stock, in all gauges, unambiguously labeled according to gauge and insulation material. My wire stripper says that this Dorman product is built with 16 gauge wire and that's what my eye detects when comparing to my labeled stock. The insulation material on Dorman is a bit shinier, rubbery and thicker than my 16 ga GXL. I wouldn't be surprised if it as GP spec, but I don't know. The socket housing is plastic, not ceramic, so I can't agree with their "High Temp" label. Back of the package says "high temperature nylon" and gives a rating of 482F / 250C. I like the rubber boot which will shield the rear of the housing. It will not provide water tight protection for the lugs on the lamp because it is not wide enough to completely cover the lug base. As for pinouts...looking into the socket from the lamp side with the center connection at the top, you get BLUE on top, BLACK to the right and RED to the left. I'll post a pic of the harness side. This works for many people but it did not match my vehicle colors (green v blue) or where my original red was. This is not a show-stopper, just need to recreate the connections according by position. However, since I've got 12 ga stock in my preferred colors in a known insulation temperature grade, you know exactly what I'm gonna do. Yes, you can get the terminals out. Update: May 2018, iow's five years later. Had to be in there for other reasons. Discovered the rubber boots had completely (!) cracked/fractured many places, just falling apart. Combined with all that was unusable 5 years ago, basically a total loss of the original cost. Will start over with something else.

Good replace ment for my 1992 GMC Sierra
A previous owner had installed upgraded halogen sealed beams to the factory plugs and the plugs were toasted. These are rated for higher heat, etc. They were easy to install, though I did have to pry off the rubber cover on one to see what color wires went where. Once that was learned, the plugs were easy to attach to the factory harness and plug securely onto the new Philips H6054CVC1 CrystalVision halogens purchased for my vintage truck. I don't agree with some reviewers that these are shoddy and that the gauge of the wire is too small . The neoprene boots are good and thick and fit securely on the sockets and 18 gauge wire is plenty for a short run from the factory harness to the sockets. These are fine for me.

Too Easy!
It all started with one of my headlights dying. When I was about the change the bulb, the wiring harness just crumbled in my hands. Not sure what happened there but now I had to change the whole harness. I love the fact that Amazon makes it easy to search for auto products that fit your particular car. In this case it was for a 2009 Honda Fit Sport. It was easy to find a few options that fit my car and that’s how I came across the Dorman Headlamp Socket. Installation was a breeze. Just stripped the wires in the car and the wires on the headlamp harness, then crimped the wires with water proof butt connectors. Heated up the heat shrink butt connectors to seal up the connection. Wrapped it all up with electrical tape for an added layer of weather protection and voila! Two thumbs up for the Dorman Headlamp Socket.

Worked for my 1st Gen Honda Odyssey
I upgraded to ZXE xenon fueled Sylvania bulbs. The heat produced from the bulbs melted the OEM plastic insulator to the bulb connectors dimming my headlights. I could go LED but I'd still have to fix the connectors. I purchased these replacement connectors as a DIY fix. I like that this set touts high heat capabilities. I'm not a car expert by any means and the connector wire colors do not match Honda's wire colors. I cut and spliced one wire at a time tracing back to the proper plug so I didn't mix up or short any connections. Just a bit of advice 😉 I'd like to think I saved myself some $$$ doing this myself.

1999 civic
After over twenty years, my civic wires were nasty and corroded. This replacement part was affordable and worked perfectly. They’re rather long but you can trim them to your needs. I just had to buy some heat shrink soldering wrap and some dielectric grease and I was good to go!
