Extremely flexible, the GorillaPod stand comes with an adjustable grip which can hold almost all iOS, Windows and Android smartphones. Your smartphone will be held securely as well, as this stand's mount has internal steel springs which expand to suit your mobile device's size. The dependable rubber grip further heightens the grip.

Tiny, versatile tripod
Sturdy, stable, Original Joby tripod. I was able to use it as a makeshift helmet mount as well. The legs are really short though.

Perfect Go-Pro mount alternative
Based on a suggestion by Casey Neistat [Youtube]My most used alternative to a Go-Pro Mount. Can fix it anywhere using the holder of a selfiestick to hold the phone mounted onto the gorilla pod.

Great for solo travellers
Vey nice for solo travellers. Instead of shooting selfies at close range that result in same predictable photos, this allows one to shoot properly composed photos. Check the bottom of your camera which should have a hole to screw in the top of this tripod. Can't support very heavy DSLRs and big lenses but is good for most point and shoots. Bought it for Rs 600 during a lightning sale and was delivered in one day from Mumbai. Cheaper no-brand products are available but this one seems to have high quality of construction.

Great tripod, be aware of the size it is small.
I bought this thinking it was the larger gorily pod, I was disappointed when it arrived to see just how small it actually is. None the less it is a great tripod. I wouldn't recommend it with a DSLR as it can tip over if it's not at the right angle, but with my Sony A5000 its perfectly fine. The rubber and silicone (I think) allow it to grip to almost any surface without problem, also the individual bends allow you to position and move the tripod exactly how you want to get the perfect shot. The quick release on the tripod comes in handy so you don't have to keep unscrewing and rescrewing it back into place possibly wearing down the threads on your camera. For the price I would recommend but I know I will have to go back and purchase the larger gorilla pod which was the one I originally wanted.

Close but no cigar
I've given the Gorillapod 5 stars even though I sent it back for a refund. It is an excellent, light, small versatile product and I'd thoroughly recommend it but it just doesn't work with my camera - a Canon G7x.The detachable mount stops the battery/ SD card door opening no matter which way round you put it on. If the camera had in-camera battery charging this wouldn't be such a problem but because the detachable mount requires a screwdriver/ small coin to attach/ remove it means you have to leave it off and attach it when you need it or leave it on and take it off to charge/ change the battery.I read a lot of reviews and it was between the Ultrapod and the Gorillapod. So I'll be buying an Ultrapod now. That has a standard (no tool) thumbwheel to attach. For the Gorillapod with the detachable mount it looks like it looks to me that the centre of the tripod hole needs to be about 15mm or more away from the edge of the battery cover hinge (or edge of the flap if the other way round) to work. The G7x is ~10mm centre to hinge.

Constant companion on mountain walks
A useful, versatile and lightweight tripod for pocket cameras (or smart phones if you get the adapter) I always have it in my rucksack so that we can capture that summit moment on our mountain walks - if there are no fellow walkers to take a snap for us. The male shoe fitting is permanently attached to the base of the camera by a fitting screw (supplied) and this couples / uncouples easily from the female housing at the top of the gorillapod - there is a quarter turn safety catch that can be used to prevent the (inadvertent) release of the camera from the tripod. A good quality product.

Great for the job.
Was a little shocked at how small it was but in the end was the perfect size for what I needed and helped with setting the camera up on a base to get the perfect shot, this no where near the Casey Neistat big tripod but does feel nice in the hand when using it instead of holding the camera directly.Of course with the added bonus you can more of less fix it to most things to get that perfect shot.

So keep it for your smartphone and be assured it will easily fit in your pocket and is so light you ...
This is very light, but also very flimsy. It is OK for a smartphone. It is too puny for a compact camera, or anything bigger. The joints quickly separate if you try to wrap the legs around anything thin and it is difficult to position the camera on it's portrait side. Even a small ball head would overwhelm it.So keep it for your smartphone and be assured it will easily fit in your pocket and is so light you won't know you are carrying it.
