SolidWorks 2012 Part II: Advanced Techniques Pck Pap/CD Edition

The 1st book was so much better. This book is missing instructions and some of the mages on the CD are complete so you ill have to remove parts to complete the part on your own. Get the book but know you will have some issues. When I 1st checked to see if amazon had the book it was $54 dollars. When I went back a week later to actually purchase the book it went up in price and I had to pay $82 including tax. Moral... buy the book when you see it cause amazon knows what you are looking at and will raise the price on you if you don't buy on 1st look.

It was in good condition per the seller's description. The book itself is a little challenging...it doesn't always tell you why you are taking the steps you are taking in each exercise. You definitely need to brush up on beginning techniques before you start this book.

I already owned part I. This text is a great companion. The projects inside are easy to follow with the steps provided by the author.

Good book. This book contains very relevant information, good finishing and presentation. The CD features many examples of exercises to practice.

This book has solid tutorials and walkthroughs. By the end you have created some pretty neat stuff in the SolidWorks program! Easy to follow and execute. The additional cd is also great and loaded with fun stuff.

Not what I expected from an advanced SW book. Too much breath, not enough depth. Where is the beef?There are errors and it was difficult to follow.The CSWP section did not track to what I have seen on various user group sites and blogs.Matt's book on surfacing is very good for an advanced topic.

I have just recently completed the SolidWorks training at my local community college, they used this manual here. I thought it would be fair to let you know of our opinions after completing the course.My instructor and all of my classmates enjoyed this manual a lot. We liked the way this book was written, the step-by-step instructions were quite clear and walked us through each project with ease. The methods and techniques used in creating the models and assemblies were really impressive. There were review questions at the end of each chapter, which helped us to measure our knowledge after completing the chapter, a big plus.The included CSWP-Preparation material looks very attractive, we looked over the pages and it seemed like we could study from it and (hopefully) pass the CSWP exam soon.We really liked the real-world examples that were used in the lessons, and the exercises that follow each lesson were very supportive and easy to follow. A lot of commands and topics were covered which makes this book a must have for beginner and advanced users. We highly recommend this book to all students as well as working professionals '''

I only received this book today, along with part 1.One of the key reasons I purchased, was that when using the "look inside" feature on Amazon, it shows all of the diagrams and screen shots to be in colour ( as in the genuine solid works manuals ). Upon opening the books, I found that they are all in black and white.This may not bother some people but in my opinion, colour is important in this instance, as Solidworks uses colour to show part selection etc.I feel this product has been mis-sold, and is a far "cheaper" product than the preview indicates.
