Cuts exactly as advertised .
We have a backyard garden and grow such items as squash and cucumbers . This little slicer does a terrific job of slicing veggies and keeps you safe from cuts while doing it . Good quality and I recommend it .

Simple and easy to use. Doesn't take up too much space.
I have a small kitchen and wanted a 1 piece mandolin and this is perfect. It has 3 thickness setting and can slice or julienne with just a twist of a knob. It did come with a finger protector but I opted to buy a kitchen glove just to make it easier on myself. It is dishwasher safe so there is no worry about cleaning the blade. As a senior I appreciate it's simplicity.

Easy to use. One of the better mandolines
The best mandoline I’ve ever had was the Swissmar Borner V-Slicer Plus Mandoline, recommended from America’s Test Kitchen, and for good reason. It’s easy, it’s safe and it’s sharp. But it’s also more expensive and has more moving parts that you need to handle. This mandoline is cheaper, serviceable, and with less parts (which is a good thing). One issue is the hand guard. It’s just another loose part that should have been made to attach to the mandoline when not in use. And preferably over the blades to make it more safe. The blades on this thing retract, (which is safer than 90% of other mandolines) but they should have gone further. They should have had some way to clip the guard over the blades. I can still see someone with small fingers cutting themselves if they grab and move things blindly around in a drawer and accidentally come in contact with this. For the price, it’s a good buy and I recommend it, if you don’t get the Swissmar.

I’ve had it for 5 years and it still works absolutely great!
Just noticed I’ve had it for 5 years and it still works absolutely great. I don’t know why, but the blade is still sharp. I mainly use it to slice garlic, onions, tomatoes and strawberries. I’ll admit I don’t remember using the plastic guard/protector much, but the mandoline itself is sturdy and high quality. It has a great design: you can choose from 3 thickness settings, and it also does julienne cuts. My favorite feature is that you can “lock” it to help prevent accidents. That said, I have cut my finger (totally my fault), so be careful, this thing is really sharp.

I LOVE, LOVE this mandolin!
Can’t make a salad without it. Stir fry is a breeze! Burgers with all the veggies uniformly sliced- heaven! Chopped onions- too easy and no tears! This is my go to slicer and julienne gadget. I typically don’t have a whole lot of use for kitchen gadgets but this one is the best, along with a micro planer, to have other than a good knife. It is super easy to clean and stores in a drawer. No need to dismantle to change blades etc. This was my 3rd one; first one wasn’t julienne version so I gave it away when I got my 2nd one after 5 years. I had the 2nd one for over 10 years and just replaced it because 2 of the tines broke. I literally use this multiple times a week and throw it in the dishwasher to clean- super easy!

Wouldn't Buy Again
I actually sent this back. It wouldn't slice my potato. It kept getting stuck 7 I had a hard time getting it off the slicer.

Works great! Use the safety thing.
This works very well for slicing things. It does not care about what it slices. It tackles every slicing task with vigorous enthusiasm and aplomb.. It comes with a plastic piece to help you slice the things you want to slice, probably vegetables, and avoid slicing things you don’t want to slice, like the top of your thumb. Use the plastic safety holder. It’s included for a reason. It was a relatively minor injury, albeit with a surprising amount of blood. It was my own fault. I survived, and I have learned from the experience. Maybe just have some frozen hash browns on hand as a backup, and don’t try to make them from scratch after drinking. Or just use the plastic safety holder instead of going full Zatoichi on some potatoes like I did that fateful night. You may think you’re keeping track of how far your fingers are from the magnificently sharp blade, which has retained its keen edge after many uses, and performs as well now as it did when I bought it. You are not. Use the plastic safety holder. I have no physical scar to remind me of my mistake, but I now treat this device with even more respect, and indeed some trepidation. I do not blame the tool; it is its very nature to cut. It does a fantastic job on everything I have ever run through it. Discernment is not in its purview but its makers are wise: they included another tool to protect its users from unintentional harm. Use the plastic safety holder. It’s included for a reason. Also, the retractable vertical blades are super useful.

Best new kitchen gadget!
So,I went down the rabbit hole of trying to find healthy snacks for my kids that are not processed. All of them are very labor and time intensive. In my quest to make my life easier, I found this product. I have had a mandolin slicer in the past, it was a giant clunky piece of equipment that came in a box with detachable blades. It was a nightmare to clean and it sat in the pantry unused for years till it finally found its way to the good will. This product fits nicely in your hand has adjustable buttons to change the size of your slices. Flip a switch and you're julianning. Your snacks are gonna be done in record time. Buy this mandolin!

Está buenísimo. Su navaja es filosa por lo que hay que tener cuidado. Es fácil de usar. Un tip es no recortar las orillas a las verduras (como en una zanahoria o calabacita) y así no te rebajas los dedos cuando llegues al final.

Plastic guard doesn't hold fruit and veg as well as I expected it to.

Great little unit.. the only thing I’ve found wrong is when julienning say, carrots it doesn’t cut all the way through to separate the pieces.. overall I’m happy otherwise

I bought gloves at the same time to protect my fingers from cuts. This device works well - is simple to use and to clean. I'm enjoying the shoestring potato fries that I cut with this device and I bake in the oven. Even on the thickest setting, the fries are a little thinner than I expected.
