Beautiful flame and works well
Easy installation. In my existing tv cabinet. Love the flame colors. Temperature options are great. Can be used with or without heat. Very happy with the purchase

It's Beautiful. Absolutely Perfect!!
I seldom write a review, but the Dimplex Electric Fireplace is worth my time. It came just in time for the holidays. Makes our family room so much more warm and inviting. It's very realistic, super easy to install, added enough heat to take the chill off the room, great fit in my fireplace. Replacing the battery in the little remote is kind of a pain. The batteries are more expensive than the regular battery, but it's a small concession for the beauty of the fireplace. In short, I love it and it is well worth the $$$!

Nice fireplace but has issues
First of all, the overall presentation is great; once you slot it in the wall, it looks good; and you will forgive the fact that it is very light and at times feels like you could bend the back plates just by pushing in a bit. The flame effect is great, and overall it is pleasant to look at, although it has issues. The first problem is related to the heat output: it takes a while to heat up a moderate size room; and of course you can't compare it much to the output of a real fireplace; so if you plan to use this fireplace as heat source for a large room, keep in mind that it will work as long as you are close to the opening, and the opening is located on the top front part of the unit. The second issue is the remote; or better, the fact that there are no controls on the actual device. If you break or lose the remote, you can't operate the device. Ironically my TV remote turn it on and off when I press the option/settings button for my tv; so I assume you can find a replacement for the remote; but it is a concern. I was expecting to find at least a couple of buttons on the unit, to be able to turn it on and off, turn the light on and off and turn the heat on and off, but there are none. So beware that there is no easy way to control this fireplace without the remote.

Great for heat and ambiance. Heats our den and keeps our power bill lower.
We got this as a replacement for the last one we had. Our grandkids thought the flame was real, but finally asked why the logs don't burn up...lol. Whenever they visit, they insist on having it on and we can turn it on winter or summer as the temp can be se to heat or turned off.

Realistic looks
The fireplace provides realistic looks and ambiance. The remote provides for very easy use.

Great product support
It is a very nice well-made unit. I broke the glass that covers the front of the fireplace. Called the product support line that was listed in the booklet. They replaced the glass at no cost to me and told me I will have it within 5 to 10 days send me a tracking number. All is well I would buy this product again just because of the support.

Nice, but Noisy
I like the looks of the fireplace when its running. Looks pretty realistic for an electric fireplace. Installed pretty easily. Heat output is pretty good. But, it makes a lot of noise when running. Kind of a droning buzzing vibration noise. If I turn up the TV it kind of drowns it out, but if I just want to sit and read a book the noise is pretty annoying to the point of needing to turn it off. If I had it to do over, don't think I would buy this one.

Very happy so far with the our purchase - totally changes look and feel of the room, and the flames are quite realistic. Heat output is wonderful. Easy to install. My only wish is it came with sound output (crackling) for the price paid. Highly recommend!

Pretty happy with this insert. I love how clean the front looks, and the logs actually look pretty realistic, especially when on the ember setting. Was hoping the flames would look a little better, but for an electronic flame, it will do. I've definitely seen worse products out there.

This fireplace is as close to real looking as you can get. And puts out powerful heat. Love it!

The Dimplex Firebox exceeds my expectations. The flames are mesmerizing, with several options to view them - more red, more blue or just a glow. The heater works fine, and it is not noisy. It fits well into my existing fireplace, replacing a gas fireplace. Now if I could only figure out how to secure it in the fireplace to prevent it from tipping forward in an earthquake.
