Ganix SATA Optical Bay 2nd Hard Drive Caddy, Universal for 9.5mm CD/DVD Drive Slot (for SSD and HDD)

Alright, so here i answer the question as per Amazon -1. Easy of Install - Well there are 2 things - one is, to install the SDD or HDD in the Candy, which fits perfectly well.. The other thing is, installing the drive fitted into the DVD Drive slot, which does not go in smoothly like the DVD drives go inside. So, inserting the candy was fine but removing the same was absolutely painful. I partially damages the outer case of the candy in the removal process, due to its soft aluminum built.2. East to Use - Just install and it detects the drives immediately.. Its just plug and play.3. Value for money - With the build quality, i would say, its not value for money.. But if its a onetime installation activity then, its value for money.So i give 3 Stars out of 5 - 2 Stars for the product and 1 star for Amazon.

It fits properly..material is good quality..tool and screws provided are also good..but the holes provided for hooking up the outer plastic panel of cd/dvd drive are not aligned with most of the latop models...you may end up breaking one side hook tab to paste it.

The product quality is ok, not that important since it will be replacing the dvd drive. One major issue with fitting it in my hp laptop is that while the SATA port is getting connected, there is no locking mechanism for this caddy. The original dvd drive was held well in place by a screw connected to a tab extending from the body of the drive. This caddy has no such feature which I suppose is acceptable because its supposed to be an universal fit.Also the outer cover of the original dvd drive, the part that contains a button to eject the tray, this part can't fit the caddy slots due to non-alignment of the original cover of the dvd, so its exposed on the side.Anyways, it serves it's purpose. Due to the non existent tab to screw this caddy so that it doesn't accidentally eject itself due to vibration, can seem to be a concern , so using a ssd in place of standard hdd in it might help with the stability due to less weight of the ssd.

I am using this for my 5 year old laptop Lenovo G50-70, with Kingstone 240 gb ssd and it is working perfectly. Easy to install. Build quality is also good. Value for money 👍

You can't expect quality from Chinese products, Working but I request Indian importer to manufacture your own disk caddy by creating body of this product by yourself and if required then import only ports.Beware, As you know while booting any OS give priority to CD/DVD media so your laptop will give priority to this caddy's disk and assume it as first disk. (Since it is no longer CD/DVD media so you can't select disk for booting first "from BIOS" but it will display to choose your booting disk pressing Hot Key.)- I was getting boot error, I had to select 2nd disk using Hot Key then I used diskpart command and mark my old disk(Which is present in HDD Caddy) from Active to Inactive and now I can start my Laptop without any error.

Product quality for the price is decent. However i do have 2 issues.1. Hard disk disconnects occasionally, a restart will fix that after a small press to the caddy bay. And sometimes it gets loose.2. The outer cover of my laptop CD - Bay doesn't fit with this variant even though the locks are in right place. I am not sure if its the issue with the product or the cover- Hence the part is open. Pic Attached.Other than these 2 issues (review of 30 days of usage) the caddy bay packing was very good, installation instruction and tools provided were sufficient and to the point. considering the price this seems pretty good.
