I am glad to have done so. This was a fantastic series. It was shorter by 2 books than many of his series, but it was a smart choice. It wasn't overdone, concluded on a wonderful note, and opened the door to a fascinating world with all kinds of possibilities. It was a wonderful journey. If you enjoyed the Percy Jackson books, give this series a try. Review: Excellent, entertaining book. ( small typo found in 2 books to look out for) - First, I haven’t read all 3 yet, but I read the first, and it was awesome. Just started the 2nd, and I noticed on page 11 a ‘typo’ of sorts that I also saw in the first book and wrote off as a ‘maybe it’s my mistake’. But after seeing it in the 2nd book too, I realized something that I have to call out. I think it’s my OCD that compels me to have a nagging feeling in the back of my head until I “set it right”. But anyways, I’ve noticed in both books that the author specifies something as horizontal, when he really clearly means vertical. Like on page 11 in book two, when referring to the Egyptian Gryphons wings being different looking because they are “horizontal”. And then it says something about how they must fly like a butterfly does. But butterflies fly with their wings vertical. That’s what makes their flying unique, although I think humming birds can do it too. In the first book, I think the same horizontal/vertical mixup happens when describing them going through a sand portal and that it looks like an hour glass. That one confused me for about 5 minutes until I finally decided it must be a typo. But I don’t remember the exact page of that one. I figured I would mention it just in case someone knows the publisher. Not important enough for me to take extra steps though lol. I do love the books so far tho. So please don’t allow something so silly and trivial to stop you from reading this wonderful book.

Calling Percy Jackson fans!!!
The price was fantastic and the kid is on a mission to read every single book in the Percy Jackson Canon. They put Magnus Chase on pause when they started flipping through the first book, and now these are being finished first! This series is the Egyptian gods... go for it!

Hilarious and fun
I love Rick's writing style. Initially I thought my 9 year old daughter would start with Percy Jackson, apparently he didn't have enough action - or since we watched the movie we should have moved onto book 2. She LOVES the chapter titles, she literally read the first book in one day, she begged to stay up late to finish it. I understand because I can't count how many times I have done that. I had thought based on some reviews this was more for older kids, however apparently your hysterically laughing 4th grader reading all the funny parts and explaining everything to you means it's child dependent. And mom dependant because now I'm reading a different series and can't wait to see her reaction at the book tomorrow. Thank you Rick, mom and daughter love your books

Another great series
If you like Percy Jackson series, then I would recommend reading “The Red Pyramid”. It has a pretty plot line only it has Egyptian mythology instead of Greek. The book is about two siblings (Carter and Sadie) who learn they are descendants of two pharaoh bloodlines. Carter and Sadie save the world from the god of evil and save their father. There are lots of twists and turns, so it’s fun to try to predict what’s going to happen. One thing I didn’t like was how it kept switching from Sadie to Carter narrating the book. Rick Riodan makes learning Egyptian mythology fun while also making sure he’s not just bombarding us with information. I strongly recommend reading this book if you are into Egyptian mythology. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Boys love these books
If they love the first books by Rick Riordan, they will love these. I have tried to get these for the boys in the order they have been released. They can't put the books down. If you want your boys to read, get them Harry Potter (my boys have read each book numerous times) and these Rick Riordan books (they have read and re-read them numerous times as well and discuss with their friends). Highly recommend these books, especially if you have a hard time finding books for boys. Note- These are brand new and as soon as my son opened the 2nd book, a chunk of pages fell out. may have to return this set.

Another great addition to the collection
The box came in good condition, minor damage on the corner of the box as it's usual with these deliveries. Over all no complaints, another great series from Uncle Rick

Great series
My daughter loved the Percy Jackson series so we moved on to this series. At first there was some apprehension regarding transitioning from Greek mythology to Egyptian, but the author is such a great storyteller that she got interested right away.

(The first book is not pictured because I’m reading it again.) These books arrived in excellent condition. Bend marks are from my use. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Dommage.
