It's a great idea for protection for your gimbal in the event of a face forward crash. However 50% of the time there are gimbal calibration issues. There have been times when everything has been fine in flight, then suddenly extremely shakey images.I would suggest you might try it on your Mavic 2 to see if it works. Amazon's return policy makes it easy for you to send it back if it doesn't work for you. You might have better luck than me. I'm going to keep it and see if I can determine what the problem is. It should be said that it seems to attach more firmly than the gimbal protector that came with the drone.One more thing that is worth mentioning... The camera/gimbal on the M2 can be rotated horizontally as well as vertically, and this lens hood would not work if you intend to turn your camera at all to the left or right of straight ahead.FWIW, the other similar brands look like they come right out of the same mold. I ordered two different brands and found that they are identical in size, shape and material density. There is another style that looks like it's closer to the lens and I don't see how that one would work at all. I gave it 3 stars because it is well made but not entirely reliable to use.

It was a tight fit with the phantomrain.org wet suit for the Mavic 2 Pro. I sent the drone up in the rain hoping this would keep side rain from hitting the lens - not sure how well it did because I am not sure when it fell off the drone. However, when the drone returned, there was no gimbal shield on the drone.

I was looking for a device to shade my camera to block stray rays and eliminate problems with my pictures and videos. This device does that without causing problems with the lens on my Mavic 2 Zoom.

when these are on the aircraft (MP2) there is no way to secure the stock gimbal protector. The slots to secure the protector are taken up by the hood. The hood does assist in protecting the cam/gimbal in minor crashes. For that, its indispensable.

I bought it mainly to protect the camera in the event of a crash. It works the same way as the lens hood on my DSLR camera, preventing stray light from hitting the lens. Highly recommend having it on your drone.

This is a must if your shooting in glaring or direct light. I use this whenever I’m shooting near water or snow, it’s a noticeable difference.

Quite surprised with this product. Despite the negative reviews by some, and a veryreasonable price this “lens hood” for the M2P. Fits easily and so far I’ve experienced no rattle or fit issues. Recommend.

Attaches very easily. Provides excellent protection from direct sunlight in most angle shots. Combined with the right filters, gives perfect video results.

Worth the money for photos and video work

Love this hood, helps with aperture and night time long exposure. One issue on 360 pano the hood gets in the way. Protects gimble well. Great investment
