To link into a non Shure transmitter, needed to alter the wiring to make it work.

Great - but could do with it's own case to keep it safe.
Bought one of these several years ago and I have to say it works great for me as a gigging guitarist who sits on and plays a Cajon (Bass pedal) and sings so I don't need a mic stand to get in the way. It doesn't come however with a dedicated case, and although I am careful with my gear, eventually a small piece of plastic has broken off the piece that holds the mic in place. This means the mic arm swings freely and I have had to fix it with good old gaffe tape, but it's not ideal. At this price (I have the cordless set) I would expect a bit of protection in the form of a dedicated case - just saying.

Noisy
I had to return it. I used it with a Zoom H5 but had to push the amp to 6/10. This cause audible background noise especially during silences. I tried with a Fethead but for some reason it doesn't work with this microphone. There is no sound that passes at all when the Fethead is in the way.

Great sound that you come to expect from Shure. Frees me up from the mic stand and makes performing so much more natural, free to engage the audience rather than the mic. Fit and hook up are simple. I don't have a wireless, so I use the XLR adaptor on the belt clip, and combine it with a corded IEM. That gives me plenty of freedom of movement, without the expense of going wireless. Exactly what I was looking for.

Please be aware when buying this one is that it doesn't come with the XLR adapter and its not easy to find a suitable one similar to what they would've provided if you choose the XLR version
