Beautyrest Fleece Electric Blanket Heated Throw Wrap Super Soft Hypoallergenic with Auto Shutoff-3-Setting Controller, 50 x 60 in, Brown

Bought this 10/29/2019, used it per instructions for about THREE months - then the dreaded, "Blinking Controller of Death" set in. Resets, cool-downs, unplug/replug in, nothing worked. Also noticed the controller becoming burning hot to the touch, such that I UNplugged the blanket daily to avoid a housefire. I was just out from an extended hospitalization and had neither the energy nor patience to mess around with *attempted* return, warranty claim (if even applicable), etc. Rolled the damn thing up and set it aside. Fast forward to 2020, cold weather setting in where I live. Tried to use it -- nope! Plugged in for 2 mins. and the Blink if Death immediately resumed. I will avoid any and all Beautyrest brand electrical products in the future. DISSAPOINTING AND POTENTIALLY VERY HOUSEFIRE-CAUSING DANGEROUS. From reading other reviews on similar products, both the Firey Hot Controller and the Blink of Death are WAAAY! too common with these types of products anymore. Yet, a family member has an 'old-fashioned' "electric blanket" that's more than a decade old, and it works perfectly w/o the blinking or overheating/fire danger - go figure?

I don't usually write reviews but I have had such bad luck with electric throw blankets I wanted to give this blanket a stellar review. I have washed it many times--air dry it and it dries in a few hours. It is a wonderful cozy blanket! I recommend!

UPDATE: I suggest all sellers stop selling this product & Beauty Rest as well. The controller overheats. It burned me and the controller melted. It won't power on because of it. I didn't have to go to ER, it was a superficial burn I treated with burn ointment. But it could easily been much worse & I don't want something worse to happen to another consumer. Original review: A lot of loose threads from stitching around where the connector is attached. I don't like that the electric cord is spliced from the controller to the blanket and the other to the wall. It takes some muscle to connect the cord to the blanket but once it is, it's a tight connection. It's flannel so not as soft as I'd like. It does warm up fast, has 3 settings and is a good size.

Updated- replacement has been good. 1 star to 4 stars.*****Gave this to my wife for Christmas. It lasted till January 19th. Lights are flashing. Have unplugged and replugged and got it to attempt to work, but is flashing. Not a durable product. We haven’t even washed it yet, so I doubt it would fair well after that. We didn’t keep the package, so we’ll see if they will warranty it. Update: They did warranty the blanket and the replacement is still working as expected. Thank you

I live on a boat. This electric blanket consumes much less power than electric heaters but keeps you cozy warm day or night. Also that reduces my electricity bill!

It's a small blanket, size wise for me its fine, the material is pretty light, its fleece, but almost more like a soft felt material and stitching visable on one side, I just received it yesterday, so this is just the first night of use. The part I don't like mostly is the controller gets very very hot, too hot to touch. Its plastic and could possibly melt. For over $40 for a throw, I expected better quality. I hope there will be no fire in my bed!

This electric "throw" might be great--EXCEPT for those who really need it: elderly or incapacitated folks who suffer during cold weather in their adjustable beds, wheel chairs or recliners. Bought this for my wife to use in her recliner. Only upon careful reading of accompanying instructions/warnings did we learn that it was NOT for use in a recliner! So, we returned to Amazon for refund. (Lesser concerns: Total heated area of throw seemed stingy. Heating wires within throw were irksomely large (about 1/8th inch diameter, or so?); seemed like 1950s technology. Electric connector between throw and its 110VAC power-supply cable was very difficult to connect/disconnect.)Note to Amazon admin: Reduce your product-return rate (from what we hear is now a whopping 30%!) by insisting that your suppliers provide full disclosure in their product specs. This is the 2nd return we Amazon Prime customers recently have had to make, because the specs in the advertising info was inadequate. No one (except, maybe UPS) benefits when folks buy stuff and realize only when they get it, that it isn't what they wanted and expected.

It works well but the thinness of the fabric you can feel all the wires. And that also doesn't allow the heat to radiate. But it does the job. It's not bulky so it's perfect as a lap blanket.
