Makes my OlllllO's HVAC blow twice as good & keeps the rain out!!!
Air scoop is very functional in keeping out the rain and increasing the HVAC air-flow. It is made out of thin plastic, so you have to be careful with it, but feels like it would survive if you accidently dropped it or maybe it blew off your Jeep at a low speed. As far as installation, the air scoop did not sit flat on my 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ's fresh air intake without modifications. Here is what I did: Cleaned the mounting area around air vent with acetone or rubbing alcohol. I used acetone. Taking a heat gun on low setting (250°~350°), I heated the 4 corners of the scoop, pushing down on it when heating in mounting position in the hood. (To find the right spot, position the scoop above the vent, then open hood all the way to the windshield to where the scoop is just barely not touching, otherwise the wipers will get in the way and rub. Turn on the wipers to make sure they are not touching the scoop when operating. Mark this position with piece's of tape or something.) Remove the red plastic protecting the tape on the bottom of the scoop and reposition where you have it marked, applying pressure for 30 seconds on and around the scoop edges.Hope this helps! 5 stars!!!

Does its job
Really helped with the dreaded jeep internal flooding and stinky cabin filter. Instal with open area pointed towards windshield not forward . Venturi effect will take of care of flow. Idiot proof install otherwise.

Average
It’s a cheap piece of plastic with a thin strip of adhesive. It’s also a lot wider than what the pictures from Amazon show so it kinda looks silly

Great addition
I have two big trees that drop a lot of small leaves. The leaves were getting down into the cowl and into the blower housing. This cowl scoop has eliminated that issue. Also helps keep some water and mud from getting in the cowl as well. Plus I thought it looked cool once installed. I haven't had any issue with it coming loose yet. Price was good, easy to install and solved an issue. well worth it.

Decent quality for the price
Looks good, and seems to be made very well. I have had it on all summer, and it does seem to "push" more air through when the fan is on low to medium speed. I know that it isn't supposed to help push in air, but in the past I could feel more air when running the fan on low to about middle position. Now I feel at least the same airflow on low as I do on medium position while moving. When stopped, the low fan position is definitely lower than while moving. But of course I bought this for looks, not for anything else, and it does look good.I'm curious to see how it works in the snowy winter, and will update if anything negative happens.
