This set is a must for anyone building a lighting/camera tripod or mounting system. Without doubt at some point you will end up with two bits you want to join that are incompatible. Either two male screws, or two different sizes, or a hot shoe fitting, but only a female screw hole in your attachment. With this set you can overcome all these issues. And at this price, I bought two, so I could help out my family as we were all going on a big trip together.The only problem is that when you screw the two items together, they aren’t always facing the right direction when you’ve got to the bottom of the thread. I overcame this by taking an old bit of upholstery leather from a discarded sofa, and I cut out washers for every joint. That gives a variable jamming point according to 1) how many washers in the joint and 2) how tight you screw it down. This solved all my problems.

I placed this order mainly for the 3/8 to 1/4 inch adaptors which seem to be quite pricey elsewhere, and with yhe order I got a ball and socket head and other bits and pieces too. The b&s head is quite nicely made but is on the small side and wouldn't take a lot of weight. Its foot is made so it can fit into a camera's flash shoe, so I suspect that is really intended to hold accessories in top of a camera, although it would probably hold a small compact camera or mobile phone OK. Also if you undo the tightening screw too much it will come out entirely to dis-assemble the entire head, so needs to used with care if operating outdoors. Not really sure what the other screw-together pieces are intended for, but would probably find a use in lighting stands etc. Good value though overall, and you get a lot for your money!

Delivery was swift and items included were exactly what I wanted and of good quality. However the package was short of (5 pieces 1/4 inch female to 3/8 inch male screw adapters) as pictured and offered. As it happens I do not require these particular items just at the moment, but have utilised the parts I do need. I just hope I'm not going to be disappointed in the near future. A great pity that a perfectly good quality item is spoiled by bad packaging.Will look elsewhere next time I order.Updated 21.09.2010. My apologies. Item complete missed some items in packaging. Main reason I bought these were for a replacement camera screw for a Manfrotto tripod (only probably the most popular tripods - and most common - in the world! And guess what, these 'replacement' screws don't fit! Bit of a joke... the thread goes the whole length when it shouldn't - needs a gap at the head's base to slide up and down a baseplate! Be aware, cheap rubbish - don't buy if that's what you're after... :o(

This selection of screws and adaptors are very useful if you are adapting old or different attachments for a camera. I was adapting a ball head mount to fit an astronomical telescope tracking device and found just what I needed in the selection. The pack was quite inexpensive and although I only used two of the parts I am sure that other adaptors will come in useful. Well made for what they are, but be careful not to over-tighten or force a thread as some of the parts offer a little resistance when new and the metal is soft enough to cross thread if to much force is applied.

This product would have got 5 stars if only all the pieces were there unfortunately the small inserts were not which were the very pieces I needed . This is a great shame because the pieces that were there we very well made in fact better made than the set I purchased. right after from a different supplier Full marks to Amazon who gave me an instant refund . Moral is check the pieces as soon as you get them.

I used these screws to attach a handle grip/stabiliser to the bottom hole in my Canon DSLR Camera and for also attaching two handle grips/stabilisers together extending the length of my handle for my video light.All the screws fit together just fine, without issues and has really sorted out my problems connecting the handle grips/stabilisers to my camera and video light.I received all 22 pcs and nothing was missing in the delivery.Would recommend.

I have a tripod and a monopod. When I recently bought a long lens for my DSLR I found that both of them had a problem - I couldn't securely attach the camera with the lens in place; I needed to lift the camera a few millimetres. A combination of two of these screws solved the problem very quickly. Quality is good. I particularly like the fact that they are made of stainless steel and aluminium, so no rust.
