Great set of flat bits and the cheapest way to get yourself set up. Theses speed bits are great pulling through wooden joists with ease. Just remember if you hit a nail they are going to last very long so check before you drill. FYI if you are after a flat bit that can deal with hitting nail and powering through then you need the Bosch nail strike flat bits which are awesome. Unfortunately you will have to get these from America as they aren’t available in the UK

For the job they are advertised to do, these are spot on. Just make sure you know what you want them to do. If you use a hand power drill and want to go through wood, these are for you. If you want to drill a hole partway through wood, well that ain’t happening. They take over when the worm bites the wood and there’s no stopping them! I foolishly put one in my drill press and nearly went through the table. If I hadn’t turned the machine off the bit would be in China by now! As said, if you’re buying these to go through rafters for example, they’re a great product.

Work really well especially if used at a slower speed. Stay sharp for ages as well.

These are a mixed bag. The spades are sharp and the flared ends leave a great finish on the edge of the hole. The hex shank is a great fit for either an impact driver or battery drill. What I didn’t appreciate is that the pilot guide has quite a course thread, and this drags the bit into the wood very rapidly compared to how I usually feed in. You can get away with this for softwood, but it’s too aggressive for hardwood or composites. On a battery drill you will get better results flipping the gearbox over to your lowest speed/highest torque. Normally I run spade bits flat out so the draft blows away the chips. So not what I’m used to, but not a disaster so far.

These drill into wood quickly and easily. Really easily! They don't make the neatest holes but they do a decent job and I find myself using them often. A good set with good selection of sizes.

I was working blind cutting through a joist that was set way back in a timbered ceiling. Only access to ceiling cavity was from my garage. Bosch tool located and cut through heavyweight joist in around ten minutes

These have such a bite on them that you have to be on your guard. They cut through wood at an amazing rate. Can't fault them but the bigger bits need you to be aware that there is a big bite as the screw point pulls the spade through the wood at pace. Still if you cut lots of holes [plumbing & electrics] these are a must.

Great set. Sharp, durable and ergonomically packaged. Easy to slip in and out of holder but all drill bits stay secure. Plenty of bits with good incremental range around the common hole sizes needed. Must have in any tradesman bag!
