Big fan now for many years.

Definitely one of the better early American Rock Bands who incorporated a Brass section.They even continued to play what I feel was good music after the death of Terry Kath who accidentally shot himself.Great group and very good CD

If you are a Chicago fan this cd is a must have. A fantastic gift or maybe even as a treat for yourself.

In 1997 and 1998, two compilations were released, apparently to celebrate thirty years in the business. As they were formed in 1966 but not signed by Columbia until 1969, I'm not sure why 1967 was chosen as the starting point. (Maybe my information is wrong?) Thirteen of the fifteen track were recorded between 1970 and 1988. I'm assuming that the other two (The only one, Here in my heart) were recorded especially for this compilation as no dates are given.Chicago started life as a jazz-rock group, but Blood Sweat and Tears were the most successful group in that interesting but limited market. Chicago gradually evolved into a mainstream pop-rock group. Nevertheless, you can hear their jazz-rock style on the earliest recordings here such as Make me smile, Beginnings and Does anybody really know what time it is?For the majority of fans who are primarily interested in their mainstream music, the jewel in the crown of this volume is, of course, If you leave me now. It became an international number one hit and remains the most famous track here. Other big international hits featured here include You're the inspiration, Hard habit to break and Hard to say I'm sorry. All the songs here are originals so even if a couple of the titles (Color my world, Here in my heart) look as if they could be covers, they aren't.Because this was the first of two compilations, some important tracks (25 or 6 to 4), I'm a man, Baby what a big surprise) are missing. If you want those tracks, you may choose to buy both volumes, or forget this and buy a completely different compilation. I picked up this one cheaply, intending to by volume 2 eventually but I haven't done so yet. Whatever you decide, if you love mainstream seventies pop-rock music, you'll love Chicago`s music.

This Chicago CD is one of the worst made. I really do not like the tracks on the disc. Non entro nel merito tecnico della registrazione, che a mio avviso è buona, ma quello che per me piucontava era riascoltare i brani più famosi del gruppo e quelli ci sono.
