Would recommend to a beginner
I was sent this ukulele in exchange for my honest review. After playing it for a few days, here are my thoughts: I’ll give the tone a 4/5 because I absolutely love the full, warm sound I get when fingerpicking. When strumming, I prefer a bit of a brighter sound then what I’m hearing here, but I wouldn’t say that the strumming tone is overly warm. I’ll give sustain a 3/5 because it rings out a medium amount. Comfort gets a 4/5 because of its wonderfully smooth frets. I took one point off because the sides of the nut stick out a bit are not smoothed out. This really only effects me personally when I go to play G, because part of my hand is pushing into the side of the nut. Other than that, everything is filed down nicely which is essential. Craftsmanship gets a 4/5 because it’s ergonomic, there is zero fret buzz, and they’ve put a slight arch in the back to create a fuller sound. I took one point off because I find the sound hole design to look of lower quality than the rest of the ukulele, which I feel slightly cheapens the overall look. However, this is just personal preference. Intonation, or pitch accuracy gets a 4/5. And tuning retention gets a 4/5. I would definitely recommend it to a beginner who’s looking for a comfortable and quality sounding ukulele while wanting to remain on a budget of around $65.
