Beatiful and functional
I love this light. It is beautiful on the front porch and matches all of our new door hardware. I love the 2 light settings. The brighter light makes it easier to unlock the door.

the true specs
Light works from 5 to 6 feet away out to 10 feet with the sensitivity switch on the back of the light maxed out. . so if you go out your door and wanted this light to help you with your keys so you dont scratch a $2000 stained Peruvia door it doesn't work. The angle may only be 120 degrees. It would suit a front door that you walk straight up to the best. the day night photo works real well. The light will never come on during the day and works when other photo controlled lights come on at night.

Works well. Durability maybe an issue in extreme weather.
This lamps works just as described. Using an 8 watt or so led bulb, sensitivity at about 3/4 of the way up. The sensor can be rotated if needed. This replaced one that failed at 3 yrs old. Live by the ocean with gales that blow rain and salt up against the house under the porch roof, so not the most weather proof. Going to try sealing the base and switch holes with silicone.

Purchasing saga, but working out fine
Had bought one for my front door, atop a flight of stairs, a couple of years ago and couldn't figure out how all the settings worked, so only turned it on manually as needed. (The instructions weren't written for dummies, and a feature like the dual-brite timed setting is readily "tested" only at NIGHT. Who wants to stand on a chair on a dark, chilly San Francisco night to fiddle with a light?!)But with a recent remodel and need to buy MANY light fixtures, I hunkered down with my highlighting pen (to focus on instructions), put on my thick jacket, with watch in hand, and FIGURED it all out!. Wow, what a discovery to find out how "smart" this light is.I now have it set to turn on (half brite) at dusk for 3 hours (also has options for 6 hours or dusk-to-dawn). When it senses motion, it goes on full-brite (which you can set to stay on for 1, 5 or 10 minutes before it reverts to half-brite.) So smart and energy conservationist. Have bought 2 more - one for each side of new sliding patio door in backyard. As additional info to potential purchasers: some Heath-Zenith models, THIS style included, does NOT come with Dual-Brite feature. Check the Heath Zenith website to view the styles, and their corresponding features and model number. Also note: the motion sensor at my front door does NOT automatically light when someone comes up the stairs; something about the stairs does not trigger with the motion detector even if it's supposed to be 180 degree range. BUT if I wave my hand right in front of it, it goes on. That's ok, because I only need to do that after the 3-hour half-brite period. I DID check/adjust the setting for motion detector RANGE, and still does not work, so deducting one star. I can't be the only household with front door atop stairs..11/18/21 Review: Needed to replace both of these HZ-4135 lights flanking my patio door. One had already failed a couple years ago, but it hadn't been a priority since once was bright enough anyway. But the seller, The Goods, sent 2 of the wrong model—HZ-4133—which costs less and does NOT have DualBrite feature that I specifically wanted. As I prepared them to return, seller emailed me to apologize and to offer a discount, not appearing to have the advertised model to offer as replacement. The return & refund went smoothly.Ordered one from another seller Home Controls, and to take a chance ordering a "Used, Very Good" one (Amazon Warehouse indicated as Seller). The one from HC came super quick, ahead of estimated delivery date, and the Used one came quickly soon after. Meanwhile, amidst this purchasing activity, the HZ-4135 at my FRONT porch failed. This one had lasted around 10 years— almost twice as long as the remaining one at patio—likely because the front door overhang provided shelter from the elements, while the ones at patio door were completely exposed to San Francisco's rain, fog & ocean air. So I ordered another NEW one from Home Controls, whose price was a couple of bucks higher than others, but worth it to me since they were clearly reliable and FAST. Sure enough, it came in a couple of days, again ahead of estimated delivery date. Thanks to Home Controls! Incidentally, they are the same seller I purchased from back around 2015. Nice to see some longevity in sellers! The two at patio door (one new & one "used") have been installed and work great. Very happy & relieved, especially about the "used" one. A rubber washer was missing (pretty inconsequential) and a decorative nut was loose in the box upon arrival, but the light itself didn't appear to have been installed. It also had a cosmetic raised mark (like how a scar looks on skin), but was on backside and would be facing the wall once installed so, again, inconsequential—and on the whole a good deal with lower price. I use 25 Watt appliance bulbs since I don't need them that bright, especially since they are a pair. I set it Dusk-to-Dawn at dim & they're activated full brightness by motion. As for the front door, that light's been installed too. I use a 50 watt incandesent bulb—because I had it in my light bulb stash. As with my original review years ago, the motion detection aspect doesn't work that well situated at my front door which is at top of stairs, unless I wave my hand right in front of it. But that's ok by me (as it was before). It's bright enough at dim level, and if I REALLY want it bright, well, um, I just wave my hand.Final note, I really like the way the lights look and operate (front door motion detection issue aside), and wanted an easy do-it-yourself replacement by ordering the exact same fixture. I have to agree with a reviewer who mentions the dial to set motion sensing level (low, med, high) is inconveniently INSIDE the housing, which means IF you apply caulk around the edge (to protect against rain, bugs etc), you can't change it once installed. So make sure you're happy with that BEFORE you caulk if that's part of your installation choice. Best wishes to all!

Works well
It looks great but smaller than expected.

DualBrite is the ticket if you want lights on (and brightened for any motion outside)
A tad smaller than I expected, but I love them. The DualBrite is the kicker for me, so it brightens up if it detects motion. Some motion detector lights only come on with motion, but i like to have the lights on and the DualBrite lets me know if there is activity outside. Surprised Heath Zenith doesn't really advertise this great aspect 'DualBrite' as it's the only type of outside light I will buy.
