Perfect
Having moved most of my peripherals over to USB-C after purchasing a MacBook, I found that there were occasions where I'd need to connect removable storage to non-USB-C equipped machine. This cable works great for just this purpose!

Don't buy if you are looking for a quest option
Bought this so I can connect my Oculus quest via USBC to a usb 3.1 port. Doesn't work.

It just works.
Good cable, works to connect usb c flash drive to pc. Can't fault it, other than I have no idea why all cables of this type are so expensive.

Didnt really work
I bought thinking this would adapt a normal usb port for a device via usbc but it dosnt.

Disappointing low performance
I'm using this to connect a USB C SanDisk SDCard adaptor to a USB 3.1 computer socket so that I can write 8GB of data to an SDCard. With this adaptor cable it can write at (peak) 40MB/s. With another USB C to USB 3 adaptor and everything else the same, the write rate is 78MB/s. I've done repeated tests all with the same results. Haven't bothered checking the read rate. Binned it.

Did not work for charging a usb-c phone with a usb-a charger. Tried it with multiple cables and multiple phones.

Bought to connect to USB Type C dual HDMI cable did not work
Bought to connect to USB Type C Dual HDMI cable for Acer Nitro 5 (As the USB C port does not support display on this laptop) and it still did not support display
