At first I was dismayed at how harshly orange and flickery they were. l experimented with various lamps, putting both a blue glass and a diffusing shade over them, which took some figuring out to make workable and attractive. Then it became a realistic flame effect that I love. I have two in my living room in front of mirrors; when I play a crackling sound effect from my phone you'd think there was a fireplace. The best result was with a simple electric candle lamp set inside a large nonelectric pillar candleholder. I frosted the glass with silver paint and put a blue glass inside over the lamp.

The media could not be loaded.  I bought these for my home theater thinking they would add great atmosphere during October. However, the sconces in my theater are attached to a dimmer switch and when I turned them on, they just went on and off almost like a strobe. I did make sure to have the brightness turned all of the way up. When I put them into a light fixture on a regular switch, they worked fine and looked great. I just wish I had known they would not work with a dimmer.

I cannot tell you how happy we are with the product! We were contemplating installing gas lanterns and opted to try these out first in our electrical lanterns on the front porch. We love them so much that we have no plans to install the gas lanterns. The flame affect is so cool - It is not as subtle as a real gas lantern, but it works for our porch. Lots of compliments and the fact that they are LED and energy efficient is a huge plus.

I've gotten a few different flame effect bulbs over the last couple of years, and the biggest problem that I have is that they animate too fast and create a sort of strobing effect, which is very distracting. These, however, have a very nice, slower, soothing flame effect that's perfect in terms of the speed of the flame animation. I've only had them a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to longevity yet, but in terms of what I was looking for from a flame effect bulb, these are perfect.

They give off a great flickering effect and behind frosted glass look very realistic. My only issue is the instructions as there are none. In order to make them flicker you have to turn them off and on again until the flickering activates; I ended up finding a Youtube video to figure that out... Kind of a waste of the piece of paper included in the box.

I didn’t realize how large these were at the top and unfortunately they didn’t fit with the glass hurricane shaped globes over them. They had a lovely flame but I had to return due to the size. Returning was easy, no problem.

Our 15-year-old daughter died in a horrible accident. She was perfect in every way. With the aid of a wonderful community, we have been doing everything we can to memorialize her. For the past 4 years, she was in the cast of the Cincinnati Ballet Nutcracker. The Christmas season is especially hard for us. As we are surrounded by homes with festive Christmas lights, our homes have a single flame LED light in her bedroom window. To us, it is an eternal flame to her memory. To those around us, it is a reminder that it is not a joyful time for all.

These worked great outside our house for Halloween. I had hoped that I might keep them up year 'round but they're a bit dim for that. Our neighbors complimented them after the first night we used them.

The bulbs are affordable and look great at night. This bulb's "flame" looks so real I can't believe no one called the fire department. But, seriously, we're totally happy with the performance of it. A friend in my neighborhood has another brand of flame bulb and this one is much more realistic looking. I did my research and it paid off. Ours is on the front porch in a frosted-glass fixture. If you're looking for a flame-effect bulb, I'd say this is the one to get.

I used them to give a flicker effect in an electric fire. They certainly give a good effect even though they were fittedhorizontally. Not as good as the original effect which had a small motor that got noisy. Have since replaced motor but will keep in reserve for when motor wears again.

These lights really create an ambient setting,This bulbs were a great addition to my Halloween or Christmas outdoor decorations. Installed them outside of my garden and they are really bright at night. The flame effect is realistic also.They are bright and the appearance is striking. An excellent value for the price. They elicit a cozy setting for welcoming to your home Will be buying more for indoor use on one of my lamps.

Please purchase these if you are researching flame bulbs. I got them and they were packaged carefully. They shipped quickly. I love the ambiance these flame bulbs give any room you put them in. Everyone in the neighborhood has asked where I got them. Easy and quite cheap way to elevate lighting. Have worked flawlessly for the past month with all weather situations! Easily matches all my seasonal decor and creates great ambience

I bought a cheaper brand first, but these are much better. The flame effect is a bit more subtle than the other ones that really strobed.
