Perfect for my migraines
I kept my hopes pretty low for this product but I just needed something and fast. I have a brain malformation that causes my skull to put pressure on my cerebellum and that gives me very painful, long lasting migraines. Usually, I take a bunch of medicine, rig up some ice pack situation out of 3 different ice packs and lay down with it. I’m constantly having to adjust the ice packs because they slip out of place all the time and that alone is a migraine within itself. I needed something that would cover my temples, forehead, back of the head, and top of the head, and even 3 ice packs couldn’t reach all those spots. Well this arrived in the mail today and I popped it in the freezer right away. I started to feel some slight head pain so I tried it on. My lord, this thing is AMAZING. It covers literally every spot on my head that needs it and it’s comfortable. I can see it being too heavy for walking around with it on but luckily (and not so luckily) for me, my migraines leave me completely incompasitated so I have no choice but to lay down. The ice packs in the hat aren’t too hard, but not too soft either so there’s just enough pressure. It’s also made of a great fabric that protects your skin from getting too cold. I guess my only complaint would be that I have very thick hair so I can feel the coolness more on my forehead lol

Great for chemo!
I ordered a few of these for my mother, for chemo. They defrost kind of fast but they aren't necessarily meant for the use she used them for. She would take 3 of them to her chemo and 3 would last plus the ride home. She was happy that she managed to finish 12 weeks of chemo and kept about 50% of her hair. The nurses gave a lot of praise to these caps! Unfortunately, you will loose hair but she never got bad enough to have to shave her head. She finished chemo and after just a month she has short hair but it is a full head of hair. She was very concerned with the hair loss side affect. These helped her get through it and keep her confidence! I HIGHLY recommend these!

It actually works, worth the money
This item works well, I just wish it had more coverage, possibly going further down the back of your head. I use it because my head always feels hot and I've been losing hair because I have Lupus. I find that it is very cooling and comforting, although the cooling effect wears off after a few minutes because of the ice packs losing their coolness oh, but it does do the trick. I find that if I press the cap into the temple area it helps cool it better because it tends to not really sit tight on your head in that area. I'm thinking of also getting a small ice pack just to put on the back of my neck along the hairline because that area is a good place to cool off also. A couple of helpful tips... be very careful not to get your hair wrapped up in the velcro when you are adjusting the velcro closure. secondly, I take two dish towels and ball them up and put them inside the cap to help it keep its shape, and then I put it in a Ziploc freezer bag to keep it from smelling like freezer stink. This method so far has worked well and help the cap keep its shape. I saw others commenting on how when it was left flat in the freezer that it would be hard to shape it into the shape you want for your head. I recommend stuffing it with something to help keep it round for when you want to use it. I suppose you could also keep it in the refrigerator if you don't want such an intense cooling effect and then it wouldn't be so necessary to keep it in a round shape. I might experiment with putting aluminum foil over the top of the cap to keep the cold in longer when I'm wearing it. That would be quite a sight! I do feel that using it regularly will help slow down my hair loss. I saw an improvement after the first time I used it.

stiff but effective
It arrived on time as described. It is a bit hard to use because the ice gel packs inside freeze so hard and stiff that when it comes out of the freezer they are in hard stiff shapes and not exactly like a soft neoprene "swimcap" type headpiece would fit. HOWEVER I still use it pretty effectively. I do not take out the long piece because it is too hard to get back in its sleeve. Actually I've just quit taking out any of the ice pieces and when I take it out I try to bend and roll it some and get it to loosen up a bit, (which it doesn't much) but I go ahead and put it on and it does feel good and help and as it thaws and it soften up and fits more comfortably.

Relief
It isn’t perfect, a bit lumpy however once it’s on your head you can reposition it so it sits the way you need it and it truly gives relief. It’s convenient to have ice all over your head and not have to hold it in place especially if you need to get up, get a drink, use the bathroom, anything. It stays on your head while you do whatever until you take it off. And it only stays frozen for a time but then remains cold and if you buy two, you can swap for additional time. I’m glad I bought and would again. The benefits outweigh the imperfections.

Fits great 👍🏽 great cold coverage
I ordered 2 different style head cooling hats and it was obvious this was my best choice. It covers most of my head with the cooling packs. I suffer with daily headaches and multiple migraines monthly. Ice gives me the best relief and this works very well. I'm very pleased. I took advice from another review to put something inside to retain shape in freezer. Stays cold for good amount if time and I can adjust it snuggly to my head. I enjoy that it comes down in front to cover my forehead.

Ice cap for chemotherapy
I bought 4 of these to ice my head while receiving chemotherapy that causes alopecia, sometimes permanently. If you put this cap in the freezer for at least 24 hours before using, it'll stay really cold for about 30 minutes. Wearing a cold ice cap for 1/2 before, during & 1/2 after the 1 hour infusion, supposedly will prevent or resist chemotherapy induced alopecia. This is an alternative to the very expensive out-of-pocket ice cap machines that you can rent at some infusion centers. The shape and adjustable size fits well, touches my head at all points and is made of a comfortable fabric. It seems to meet all the criteria for icing the head for the prevention of alopecia but I won't know for a couple of months if it works. It definitely works for soothing a mild headache.

Hard to fit on the head whan it is frozen solid, especially if the person is in severe pain.

I had a mold toxicity problem that led to migraines. At the time, I didn't know it was the mould problem that my roommates were creating in our communal kitchen. Anyway, the migraines went away, but I noticed that when I was studying hard on something, I would get some head pressure and I noticed that my head was warm. That's when I got the bright idea to wear these cold caps while I'm studying. It's amazing. It not only keeps my head cool, but it keeps my emotions cool, and that's very necessary for the studying that I'm doing. As well, recently, I hit my head and experienced a mild concussion. And I bought this version again and the full head version, which is cheaper for some reason, and I used it around the clock. If I didn't have them, I'm not really sure how I would have gotten through the first days of the concussion since there was so much pressure in my head. The material in the cap is a nice high quality stretchy material, and you can adjust the amount or kind of pressure or where the cold packs lay. Just move the cap around. I will also use the full head cap, when I'm cleaning, so that it acts as a bit of a bump protection. This has definitely been a very healing product, and I am very happy with it. I keep buying them for myself and for my loved ones. Everyone should have one of these or a few of these in the freezer for a variety of different reasons. Keep your head cool! Ps I would like to see this in a black fabric, to hide it under a favorite black summer hat. And I like the new black cold packs by the way.
