Dipping candy became a lot easier when I purchased this tool!
Makes dipping peanut butter balls a whole lot easier and quicker!! I used to use toothpicks to dip each ball into the candy coating. It was time consuming and each candy was left with a “toothpick” hole, unless you drizzled some coating over the hole. By using the dipping tool, I can dip a ball, let the excess drip back into my double-boiler -then move the dipped candy to the wax paper or parchment paper. You flip or rotate the dipping tool to let the coated candy drop onto the paper. I still use a toothpick to gently push in the middle of the spiral of the tool when it is flipped for the candy to drop. I seem to have more control of where the candy lands on the paper by doing that. And, the coating just runs back into the area once the candy is on the paper to harden the coating. Has made this holiday tradition some much easier and quicker! This year I purchased a second one. Sometimes, after several “dips”, the tool becomes coated itself and needs washed. A wet tool isn’t useful. So while it is drying, I can keep dipping the candies with the second one. I have pictures both beside a ruler so you can see the size and length. I generally hand wash the tools for clean-up. The quality is very good, but could easily be bent if you misuse it or store it improperly in your utensil drawer. Money well spent! I have been making peanut butter balls for over 40 years for the holidays. Wish I had purchased something like this decades ago!

Perfection
I'm not sure how I stumbled upon this, but it is amazing!!! One of my holiday traditions is Oreo Truffles. It's my go to items to take. Dipping the balls into chocolate has always been a struggle. My first few ones looks fine, but as I continue working the quality does look as great. This dipping tool is perfection. So easy to use and my truffles looks like they were store bought and not homemade. Such a value, so easy to use, clean up is a breeze. Like other reviews mine did arrive bent, it was like the packaging was too small. It straightened easily and will be used for many years to come.

Perfect Dipping Tool for Candy
Simple and effective tool I bought for candy-making! I got this for the sole purpose of making peanut butter balls--the rounded wire end holds each ball perfectly so I can dip gooey treats into melted chocolate and the excess drains off through the rings. The handle is long enough to dip with ease and still avoid the heat from the stove. Love it! It's a snap to wash and dry, and it's compact size makes for easy storage. A small price to pay for making gorgeous pieces of candy.

Chocolate dip
Worked great. The chocolate was thick on the candy but everyone said extra chocolate is not a problem.

Excellent candy dipper
This is a tool that makes dipping individual candies or small treats into chocolate. I'm sure some bakers might want a larger dip area, but this is ideal for truffles and other like creations that really are better if they receive individual attention.

Extremely Impressed
This tool was instrumental (yes, it's THAT good) for dipping cordial cherries! I've always just used the cherry stem and a spoon to dip my cordial cherries. Last year, I decided to splurge, and try out a dipping tool. I didn't have high expectations... I picked this one because it looked durable - there are no plastic parts. Literally, that was my deciding factor, as there weren't any reviews yet. And I am extremely pleased! Dipping cherries was a breeze!! I was so thrilled, I added a few other of the Ateco dipping tools to my Amazon Christmas list (AND got one from my mother in-law! Boom!). On the Ateco Tool Set reviews, a few complained about the handle being slippery after you've gotten chocolate on your fingers. I honestly didn't have any issues. You could easily stabilize the tool by holding your pinky finger against the ring at the end of the handle (which the triple tool set doesn't have). These tools are much more durable than you'd expect - the product description & pictures don't properly demonstrate how well these are constructed. Also check out the triple tool set - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000E2OF1/ The spiral tool in that set is a little smaller than this one, but it was also helpful for dipping cherries. Though this larger one was a little easier. If it's feasible, just get both. Then you can have someone help you. :-) You won't regret it. *Side Note I: Amazon's currently listing this tool at $65.00... Absolutely not! I paid $15 for mine back in November 2013.

Works very good! It requires a little bit of finessing at times depending on what you are dipping into to get a nice rounded ball however I will not complain. So much berry than using a spoon!

This little tool worked perfectly and I was SO surprised that it made that much difference. My mom and I make truffles and that kind of thing every Christmas and we've always used a spoon or a fork for dipping. We've always, I say ALWAYS had average results. Many times the truffle or ball of goodness would melt too much in the warm chocolate before we could successfully get them out. With this tool we actually had GOOD success for the first time in years! I was shocked that it could make such a difference. it holds and cushions the ball as you dip it and allows you not to lose it in the chocolate. Great little tool. I'l never assume that something simple that's made for a job wouldn't be useful again. Learned THAT lesson, lol. Specialty tools are a great idea and actually help give you more professional results.
