MK2638 Transmission Mount ()

I bought this to replace the trans/t-case mount in my GM 1-ton 4x4. This worked perfectly in my 400TH/205 Combo. If you have the optional skid plate on the cross member, pull it and put a jack under cast iron body of the t-case. Once the bolts to the original mount are loose, jack it up, swap them out and your back in business. It took me longer to unbolt the skid plate then it did to replace this rubber mount. It took care of a slight vibration on startup. This is a great and needed upgrade for these trucks. Mine was the original, 35-year-old rubber mount. Definitely time to replace them!

Really stupid design. Metal that goes through the rubber is long and it makes it difficult to get a socket on the bolt as if it wasn't ridiculous as is getting to the inside bolt.Rubber seems pretty durable but one of the studs broke off as I tightened it down. I wasn't even cranking down hard took my chances and I lost. Only giving it two stars because the rubber itself seems like a good material but who knows how long it will last me.

The pin that runs though does not address the normal point of failure (studs breaking off clean). And the pin that runs through makes it extremely difficult to get the bolts in.If you do buy this mount, you should cut and remove the pin/extra bracket before installing.
