Best easy step by step guitar setup book.
Been a guitar player for about 50 years did all the usual basic setups myself for years from experience with guitars, but some things I let Experienced luthiers do, not anymore, with this book and (YouTube) I do it all myself and I've gotten so good I do setups for other people all the time, book is a great guide step by step with awesome Instructional illustrations, very well done I use this book Constantly as a (I've had this book for years) quick guide when I need a reminder on certain setups. It includes.Intonation, trussrod, saddle, pickup, string, bridge heights (starting point specs) etc.....all you need to do a good over all setup.I've taken factory setup guitars cheap and expensive that sounded and played like shit and the owners hated even playing or didn't play at all, and of course a great setup is all they ever needed. (Plus getting some tools for the work doesn't have to cost you a ton of money)The perfect refresher guide for long periods in between setups on acoustic and electric guitars.

It pretty good.
It's good for basic knowledge of setting up a guitar. Nothing specific about any type of guitar.

Hal Leonard Guitar setup & Maintenance
Teaches many things like: some soldering and electronics that will help you repair your electric guitar, to change the strings, to adjust the neck via the truss rod to increase or decrease relief, to set the action and intonation on both electric and acoustic, what tools you'll need. In other words, nut adjustment, saddle adjustment, pickup height, action, guitar anatomy, etc. The book is approx 5x 9 inches, it is small. has a lot of pictures. For info 5 star, I recommend the book. I wish it gave something on the floating bridge.

Good Info but Vague in Places
This is a short setup guide that covers both electric and acoustic, with the steps in order. There are lots of pictures and it's pretty simple to understand, but the author leaves out specifics about how to do some things. For instance, he says not to sand the bottom of an acoustic saddle if it has a piezo pickup, but "you'll have to sand from the top" but doesn't show or elaborate how to do that. He the truss rod adjustment is usually where the headstock meets the neck or at the neck/body joint. So how do I know? There is a hole at the bottom, and also a plate to access the headstock hole, so which do I do? Very confusing for a newbie. I guess I need it to be even more basic than it already is.I'm still searching for that perfect step-by-step guide to setup, especially for acoustics.

Good book.
Good book for a novice. A lot of topics but getting no deeper in any subject. Photos are excellent and explanations regarding what to do are clear. You are becoming a Luthier after reading this book but you can save some money doing some improvements and repairs by yourself with patience and some tools.

Very good basic Guitar setup and repair info.
Ordered this guitar setup up book after being quoted high prices for basic setup and repairs probably due to the virus restrictions. I an pleased with the book it contains many close up clear pictures and text info showing both acoustic and electric guitars, note does not seem to cover Telecaster guitars, also the book is A5 size.
