Great value
This has been working great for me. When connecting HDD, I plug in the adapter to the drive, then the power, then connect the USB cable to the PC. I believe the instructions say power last, but that didn't make sense to me, so I have done the USB end last and it works every time.

Works with optical drives. Cable is very short. USB-C power.
I bought this because I read a review that said it worked with their optical drive. I can confirm it does. I have it working with an extra bluray drive I have on hand. I left 4 starts because the usb cord is a bit short. Using this on my pc's front I/O means I have to have the bluray drive facing sideways. It works as it's designed, which is the most important part. The USB-C power is a wonderful addition.

works, even for 5.25" DVD drives!
i have an internal 5.25" DVD/CD drive that i wanted to use, but my new case doesn't have any slots for it. I bought this thinking that it probably wouldn't work and I'd have to return it, but it worked great! Drive is detected just fine. I considered subtracting a star because the USB (which is C and A, very nice) that goes comes the unit is VERY short. I'm guessing 6"? Maybe fine if it's sitting right next to a laptop on a desk, but is very inconvenient for my PC use. I'll buy a USB C extension cable to work around this.

Simple, Easy to Use, Just Works
Note: I am reviewing the version that includes the power adapter. This is the version that works with the widest variety of drives. I use these at home and at work when I need to access a SATA hard drive quickly for troubleshooting, repair, or just to access data on the drive. If you use this on a newer computer with USB 3 or Thunderbolt, it accesses the drive data very quickly. I like this version of the hard drive adapter because it is fast and works with all the SATA drives I've tried it with. (Some adapters only work with the 2.5" drives.) To me, this is easier to use than the toaster style drive adapters. I've used it to read/write data, format/partition drives, clone drives, and boot from drives and it's handle all of those functions well. Only thing I'm unsure about is if there is a limit for the drive size that you can access with this adapter. I don't think there is, but I can't remember if I've tried it with anything larger than 2TB.

One thing I should have guessed was that the AC adapter had a UK plug. I live in Sweden and consequently got a problem. This should have been informed about in the description. If this is omitted, the seller might have adapted the delivery to the country the package was sent to EU -> EU, UK -> UK etc. Had a suitable mains adapter lying around so it worked out great. Overall good quality and works great for my XBOX.

Das Produkt funktioniert einwandfrei. Meine Festplatte wird erkannt eine gute Methode um 3.5 Zoll Festplatten auf als Backup zu nutzen

Fonctionne très bien avec montage dans mon ancien Boitier Multimédia avec le disque dur d'origine.J'ai retrouvé toutes mes sauvegardes car l'interface du boitier était HS.Sinon en négatif il est livré avec une alimentation secteur avec un Plug UK mais non EU pour nous Français.Ouf,pas grave j'avais un adaptateur Plug UK vers EU.Note sur la boite c'est bien coché UK.Donc ATTENTION c'est une de description du produit avec manque d'infos sur la version du pays pour faire fonctionner l'article et en plus il n'y avait pas de photos de l'adaptateur.Faute en partis du Vendeur.

Funciona muy bien y es ideal para conectar discos duros externos de 3,5 pulgadas. En contra diré que la clavija del adaptador de 12 voltios no es valida para España, al menos podría traer un adaptador
