PHIFER3024746 Screen, Black

This screen material is very nice. I had some of the more typical semi-invisible black material before, and I did a side by side comparison on two windows. What I found is when you are 1-2 feet away both look almost the same, this product is slightly better but not much, but around 2-3 feet away it starts to fade and is better and somewhere around 4-5 feet back this one disappears where as my other one is still visible. I'm a fan! I've not seen it rain yet but am interested in how the water shedding works because I know my older material held water drops a long time.The only drawback with this material is cost, and if you are doing a lot of windows then the big roll like I got seems reasonable, but bottom line if view is very important this is it.

I opted to install this screen material on my existing sun damaged worn screens. The material arrived undamaged and was what I ordered. My problem is the material is only .007" thick and the material I replaced is .010" thick. I'm not sure if this will hold up but it is performing as intended and i likely saved hundreds of dollars doing this myself instead of going the mobile screen route. One note it is very difficult to install a screen on a large window 70" tall and 30" wide as the frame seems to hour glass no matter what precautions I took. Likely I need a proper fixture to hold the frame while installing. Phifer mouse is also a great spline tool.

Product is barely visible though it does noticeably darken the overall view. It is very easy to damage while installing and if you have pets or non adults in household probably don’t want to install in a screen door as I expect it won’t survive long. It does look nice but only time will tell how long it can survive our 300+ days of high altitude sun/UV.

Easy to work with

I read this Ultra-Vue product to be the same as the 20x20 No-Seeum screening. And on top of that being unreasonably expensive.
