good sturdy stand
Got the stand a couple of weeks back for my LP Matador bongos. Very stable and fits well. As one of the reviewers noted, the lowest height setting may be a tad too high for shorter folks. Other than that, strongly recommended.

Liked it once, bought it twice... modified them both
Me and my brother both have LP Aspire bongos and have been looking for good stands for them. The official Aspire stand didn't have the best reviews and cost around $80. Saw this, read the reviews, etc. ordered it. This is maybe the best bongo stand deal goin', except for one thing: was it designed for a race of really tall people? I realize it's for playing while standing but if it could go a little bit shorter, it would be ideal for sitting, standing or attaching to a conga setup; I found it could be adjusted so that, at its lowest, it was just low enough to be perfect for me while standing (I'm 5'9"), but still too high for sitting or with the congas. Ended up getting a hacksaw (gasp!) and cutting just under 5 inches off one of the poles (relax, it was easy, $9 hacksaw, took maybe a minute and a half), and now it's just about perfect, need to sit on something other than a low chair for playing while sitting (can use those with extra cushions though), and it's absolutely exactly where I want the bongos for standing or with my congas. In other words, for $50 (including shipping), I now have all the bongo stand I"ll ever need, even for sitting (ever price a sit-down bongo stand? expensive). Aside of this issue it's a great stand, better than alot of the more expensive ones. It's chromed and has nice tightening ratchets, very much the same as my snare drum stand (for compact conga) and my drum stool. It's very sturdy, if you have the legs spread wide (and you will unless you're 6 foot 5 or higher) it doesn't shake or wobble much. Seems like it's made to last awhile. The hardware is nice, all the rarchets turn smoothly and you can get them very tight without any slippage. Unlike the Aspire stand (which utilizes a strap) this has basically a padded vice-grip; won't hurt the bongos but they're locked in there tight, rock-solid, leave 'em there for good if you want (easy to get at the tuning lugs too). Between the leg, height and tilt adjustments you can position it to exactly where you want it. There's nothing covering the bottom of the drums at all, so the sound projects fully. It sets up or totally breaks down in seconds, very easy. Had to get a second one for my brother, think he'll love it too, have to use the hacksaw again though. You have to be willing to deal with the height possibly with said hacksaw, otherwise this is a very nice stand for any bongos, Aspires, Galaxies, anything else you might have, and for only $50 I feel almost like I'm getting away with a little robbery here. 10 stars, minus 1 for the hacksaw (it was really easy though). PS: Uh-Oh! The price just sky-rocketed! (was $43 + $6 shipping). 4 stars.

I sent it back, it was not strong enough for my bongos.

Very stable. A good deal
This stand is heavy and has a very stable base. I'm using it with LP 200 Fiberglass bongos which, ask anybody, are really heavy. With the stabilizer bar in place they are rock solid. The clamp is a tight fit on the brace, no finagiling needed. I'm happy. The brand label one mine is "Latin Groove" rather than "Percussion Plus" but they are indeed the ones in the photo here. No matter.

Great hardware
This is really good hardware for bongos. Well constructed, sturdy, nice looking. A great deal, especially considering the price. Its just what I wanted. As noted in a previous post, the only drawback is that the lowest height setting of the stand is curiously high for a shorter person. At first I was planning to simply cut a few inches off the pole, but then I decided that I liked the slighly higher height. In any case, I would highly recommend this stand to any bongo player - beginner or professional.MM, Texas

Almost Perfect
For playing the drums while standing it is rock solid and holds the drums securely. I need to figure out how to lower it enough to play while sitting. Cutting the insertion tube will be a last resort, but is certainly doable as someone else has suggested.

Versatile stand
Heavy duty and has lots of uses. I use it to hold my bass guitar on stage so I can quickly play a bass lead without changing guitars. Adjustable to the perfect height and angle for playing. Clamp is solid and gentle on the finish. I'll be buying another for my sax.
