I breastfeed. Can the drops be added to pumped milk in a bottle? Do you have to wait a certain amount of time before giving to the baby? Thanks!

I usually squeeze out a teaspoon full and add the drops. I don't usually add to the whole bottle because the baby might not finish the bottle and  as well will not ingest the whole dosage. I can't remember the actual wait time. But you can find that on the product label. Thanks

How often do you administer?

You have to administer it in each milk feeding.  The instructions are included and you get used to the system because it has to be in the milk at least 30 minutes if you do 4 drops or 4 hrs if you choose only 2 drops.  This stuff was really a godsend for our little baby girl. She was lactose intolerant early on until her system matured and she cried all day long.  The first day we administered it in her milk (either breast milk or formula) she completely quieted down and had a long nap.  She had been miserable from week 3 of her life until 3.5 months until the Dr passively mentioned that "we might want to try this".  He had no clue how beneficial this would be for her and my sanity!

How long does it take to start  working?

In our experience it worked immediately after the first time we used it.  After feeding her she was so much more calm and we noticed a substantial difference.  If she didn't have the drops in her milk (breast or formula) she would scream and be very irritable within 15 to 30 mins of eating.  If we continuously used the drops when feeding her she was a much happier baby in general.  We had to use the drops until 13 months of age.  She was premature so maybe her system was a little set back compared to other babies. We cut down the use of the amount of drops in her milk as she aged and her digestive system matured.  We then tried at different stages to give her milk without the drops to see if she was ready to be weaned off. At first she would cry hysterically after eating and we knew she still needed the lactase.  It took about 3 months of trying this every few weeks and finally at 13 months she seemed fine without out.  I know other families that only needed it through 4 months so it just depends on the baby and their systems.
