**Update: October 2, 2025** I wanted to follow up on my original review because the company reached out after I posted it, and I'm glad to say they've made things right. They sent me replacement parts for the affected areas at no cost, and the new ones are holding up much better—no more rust issues so far. Their customer service was responsive and handled it quickly, which turned a frustrating situation around. That said, the core concern about the build materials not fully matching the "stainless steel" description still lingers for me, so I'm docking one star for that. Overall, though, I'm bumping this up to 4 stars. If you're on the fence, I'd say give it a shot now that they've shown they're willing to stand behind their product—just keep an eye on the materials claim. I thought it would be durable and stay in good shape for a long time. Then I noticed a scratch in the paint recently, and when I checked, the metal underneath was starting to rust. Rust! On something that’s supposed to be stainless steel? That’s just not right. The worst part is I only figured this out after the return period ended, so I can’t send it back or get a refund. That’s really frustrating, and I just want to let others know what’s going on. Don’t spend your money on this thinking it’s high-quality stainless steel—it’s not. The materials aren’t what they say, and it’s not worth the high price. Avoid this one and don’t get misled by the false advertising like I did. Save your money for something better.

Heavy duty, solid and have a nice black coating. I built two new gates using a 2x4 frame. They are easy to install and adjust - make sure you have 1/2" clearance on the hinge side and 1" on the latch side. My only issue is the difficulty in adjusting the closing tension. On heavy wooden gates you need more closing force and being able to increase the tension by turning the adjustment wheel was difficult while trying to reinsert the retaining pin. It includes 2 tension adjusting rods and the screws for installation in wood and PVC, which was a nice touch. A big upgrade from previous big box store hardware.

The hinges do not self close, pins didn't stay in and fell out. Now I cant return it because I tried to get it to work and it is banged up, plus I already mounted the latch.

the product is good... no complaints.... for installation don't install the locking device until the gate is finished (weight issues will change where it sets)
