A companion pencil for squeezing the most out of each stick of graphite
The Autopoint twin point mechanical pencil can be used to reduce graphite waste, an issue seldom addressed by other mechanical pencil manufactures. The drawback of many mechanical pencil designs is the inability to use and thus wasting a good 1/3 of the remaining graphite due to the piece sliding back into the pencil tip at the slightest pressure. While it is possible to use the next loaded stick to push its shorter counterpart forward, the stability of the tip is often lacking or may simply slide out of the pencil. The Autopoint 0.9mm complements my other push-top 0.9mm mechanical pencil by feeding on the worn-down graphite that the push-top pencil is unable to hold securely due to length. So far, I have been able to feed worn-down Pentel 0.9mm graphite into the Autopoint without any issue and was able to use the remaining graphite up to ~4mm before it was rendered unusable. The Autopoint's shorter graphite compartment is unable to fit the standard length of a fresh Pentel 0.9mm (or most other commonly sold replacement graphite), which is 60mm in length hence why it is a companion to my other 0.9mm mechanical pencil. The pencil may be a bit heavy and hard to grip to some people. I also assume that the tip will become loose over time, as noted by an Autopoint Jumbo model (30010IV) reviewer, due to friction's wear and tear. However, unlike the single tip jumbo model, one can use the twin tip to continue using it even after the other has worn out. Be sure to save the box that the pencil comes in since it contains instructions on disassembly and reloading graphite.

A toast to the men whose pens we boast.
My job is basically to correct others' oversights and errors. I worked with a pencil, red pen and highlighter, all for different uses. So I spent a lot of time juggling writing implements, which can get frustrating while working with massive documents spread out on my desk. Then I had a flashback... I had a boss once who was an Air Force guy and I remembered this awesome double edged pencil he had. So I Googled Air Force Pencil and re-discovered these gems.I don't know how much time I'm shaving off my work, but I feel slightly less fwustwated. Now I just juggle this and a highlighter. I haven't had to refill yet but I'm mechanically inclined and do not foresee problems.

Nostalgia in a Pencil
"In the old days of air traffic control", before computers, we used paper strips to represent each aircraft and we wrote control instructions in various places on those strips. The writing instrument was called a controller pencil, red on one end and blue on the other. Red was for planning and blue was an instruction given to the aircraft. These pencils are a carbon copy of those controller pencils.

Indestructible Pencil
The Autopoint mechanical pencil is unbreakable and is a totally reliable writing device. The only way it would fail to perform is if you lose it. I always want to have one handy.

Bad luck with a good pencil
I love this pencil. Dispense exactly how much you want with thicker lead that does not break. Most people have never even seen a double sided mechanical pencil so it adds a fun conversation piece.A few months after my order, one side of the pencil fell apart. The tip and plastic finger grip separated and disconnected from the graphite casing. Luckily there are two writing tips and I was able to continue using the other. I still am upset that one tip fell apart by what I am guessing was an adhesive issue. After getting fed up with using only one side, I started utilizing a second pencil I purchased as a back up. I instantly discovered that the red colored lead had jammed inside the casing before I had the opportunity to use it. I tried forcing it out by twisting the tip and it must have crushed it inside the tube and further impacted it. I tried to separate the outer metal casing to create less friction and this did not work either.Alas, I now have two pencils with only one functioning tip due to some error in workmanship. I still love this pencil but am disappointed in the longevity of the piece.

Beloved old friend - glad I can still buy more!
I love these pencils, as a teacher - flip it to go from red to black. My paraeducators use them by preference. They're becoming my ceremonial gift to a paraeducator becoming a teacher.

Best blue lead on the market
Best blue lead on the market. This is worth it, if only for he medium. I wish they sold a blue that was "UN-Producable" by copy machines.
