Used as a trolling motor battery.

These are identical to what sams club sells. east penn.I bought two group 31's in may of 2020 for use in my camper. used only moderately meaning no deep discharges or heavy use. Just led lights and inverter for occasional use. I spent good money on a high end, onboard charger/converter to properly charge and maintain these. didn't matter. by july/aug., they started to give me issues. only kept a 50% charge, then, by jan., down to 40, 30 20 etc. the kicker is they haven't even been used since last oct, 2020. just sitting on maintenance. I also have 300 watts of solar so during the day, there's no excuse.only after the fact have I've been reading about deka/east penn failures.I cannot recommend these batteries.Thankfully, there is an 18 mo. warranty. so they gave me new ones. so far, still not impressed. voltage drops are deeper than they should be using relatively low amps. they do seem to recover quicker. I will not be buying these again. I will stick with true deep cycle 6 volt. I previously had two interstate golf cart batts and they were awesome. I abused the crap out of them and they lasted 8 years.

Excellent battery

I bought 4 of the group 27 for my 28ft boat...13 months later one of them swelled up like a balloon and they absolutely refused to replace it and give me a new one....they didn't even prorate it and give me a break on a new one...charged me full retail price for a new one!! Great customer service right!!??? 30 months later 2 more of them went out and the same deal...they did nothing at all. If you are spending this kind of money on quality marine batteries go with Northstar or Optima Blue Tops....they will last years and years beyond the warranty, which is 3 years on both - not 1 year....this is a sign of quality. I should have never let the marina talk me into putting these in my new boat......don't spend a penny on these things...COMPLETE GARBAGE!!!

I bought a pair of Deka 31-series Intimidators for a 24-volt trolling motor. That was 7 years ago and I used/charged them often - maybe 2-3 days a week year round. They still work well today but the longevity of the discharge is beginning to be noticeably diminished. I will be replacing them this coming spring with the same model.I think key to getting 7 years out of a battery is starting with a quality one and secondly making sure to charge them immediately after use with an AGM capable charger.

I have 3 of these that are 10 years old that still work.

I had 3 of this on my Sailfish with constant charger ProSport20plus charging them. After 18 months it does not hold more any charges. I contacted the manufacturer and they will not give me any warranty discount/replacements on batteries over 12 months. Unacceptable!! I live in Florida. How come one sells a battery that lasts only 1 year? Never again.
