Seem to be sturdy
I have spent a phenomenal amount of money on the various types of interconnect cables for my electric guitars since I started playing back in the 1970s. The usual reason for replacing them is breakage. And I don't think it's because of penny-pinching on my part. The most common breakages are where cables move frequently - so the end you plug into your guitar is most at risk. These short patch cables are designed to go between a string of effects pedals. On my pedalboard all my pedals are held in place with Velcro so the only time things move is when I rearrange them. So my prime concerns are the quality of electrical contact when they're plugged in, and any noticeable effect the wire has on the tone of my guitar. Given that the length of visible black wire on these patch cables is 15cm you would hope that they could do little to damage to your signal. And I'm happy to say that I can detect no obvious degradation of signal using them. There is no marking on the 6mm diameter black wire so I don't know what it is. But it is fairly flexible. The quality of construction of the jack plugs seems solid. The bit that you hold in your hand unscrews rather too readily, but I'm not sure it performs a central role in the function of the cable. Unscrewing it reveals a mixture of plastic which I guess is there for stress relief, and the metal bit which I think the wire is soldered to, although I haven't dismantled one to confirm this. The advantage of short patch cables like these instead of solid interconnects is that every time you reposition your pedals the short length of wire moves. Solid interconnects by contrast feel like they break a little bit, or damage the jack sockets in your pedals every time you reposition things. The big advantage of these NEUMA cables is that they're solid but very cheap. You can easily pay more than this for a single cable, and I admit you might get a better product for the money, but if your budget is restricted and you maybe want to work up to something more expensive in future, these are a good way of getting started.By the way, the product listing says the cable is 16cm long but mine are quite definitely 15cm long. In my case this is a distinct advantage - indeed I'd be happy if they were even shorter.
