Wow, great story, I had a hard time putting it down to go to bed! I was definitely in suspense and didn't figure out who had killed Missy on that road until a page before it all came to light. I loved the characters as well as the story, never disappointed by your writing Nicholas Sparks!Thank you for another wonderful book.

A most eye-opening reading experience. Sparks takes the reader on a really twisting and turning ride on this "Bend" in his "Road" ! This novel really makes you want to keep reading on into the night, just to see 'what is Around the Bend in the Road.' For Me... the novel really made me think about my own life, as well as those loved ones with whom I live with, as well as those who are no longer sharing their life still on this earth. In my case-- both my parents--- THEY have found Their Own "Bend In The Road" !! Very enjoyable as well as RECOMMENDED novel ! ! !

3.75 StarsOctober Book Club Book ReviewI have mixed emotions about this book, I liked it but I didn't love it. Since reading "Dear John" I have stayed away from Nicholas Sparks books. I enjoy watching the movies but the books just aren't for me. However, I didn't have a choice with this one, since it was a book club read. I'm glad I read it though it was a quick and easy read. It won't be at the top of my recommendation list but as a Nicholas Sparks book goes I would chose this one over others.One thing I found interesting was the writing style. Sparks starts the novel off with the narrator recalling how events of his life intertwine with those of the hero and heroine. By doing this the reader is able to feel sympathy for the narrator while he retells the story of how Miles and Sarah learn to love again after tragic events uproot both of their lives.Miles Ryan is a small town county sheriff with a 7 year old son, Jonah. Miles and Jonah's lives were turned upside down 2 years prior when tragedy strikes and Miles and Jonah bury a wife and mother. Miles is left with no answers and no one to charge for the crime that was committed. After years of obsession he finds himself looking ahead and wanting to rebuild a life. One with love, and happiness, one with a wife.Sarah Andrews has just moved to New Bern after leaving her hometown of Baltimore to be closer to her parents after a nasty divorce. She isn't looking for love considering she had been burned deeply by her ex-husband. But when a student in her class is in need of extra help she meets Deputy Ryan and sparks fly.Neither one of them expected for their feelings to come so fast and so hard, and when a secret is revealed that could rip apart the very love story they created, forgiveness and understanding may be their only hope.

I could not put this book and read until early n the a m. So far I haven’t read anything by him I didn’t like.

I thought I had read all of Nicholas Sparks’ books.I missed this one. It is so well written and interesting. Not like his usual books. The subject matter is very different.This is so good. I hated to see it end.

Definitely not fave Nick Sparks book. Not even close. Parts of it, I felt were written by a child. Mostly the dialogue. The storyline wasn’t bad but not believable. It didn’t seem to get interesting until close to the end and at the point it felt rushed. If you skip this one, you won’t be missing much

I thought I’d read all his book. This one was a shockingly pleasant surprise. It was unlike anything else I’ve ever read of his. Yes, there’s a love story, but the mystery was just as gripping! I’m sad now that I’m done and I wish I could keep reading, but I feel that way at the end of all his books.

NS books are just a relaxing read , nothing mind bending but usually a twist or two to keep interest.This book delivered . Good read .

A fantastic read. For the first time in ages I couldn't put it down. How complicated could it get. Thank you.

All books of Nicholas Sparks are amazing and, this book is great. A bend in the road is the story of Miles and his son Jonah and Sarah. Miles is a sheriff and, he lives with his son Jonah. Miles lost his wife in a hit-and-run accident. He is obsessed about who was driving the car that killed his wife. Miles is determined to get the bottom of this case.Sarah is divorced and, she has moved to New Bern to start a new life. She is a teacher and, Jonah is her student, jonah has some problems in school and, she starts helping him after class. She starts a friendship with Miles and they hit it off right away. Miles and Sarah fall in love and, Jonah approves because he likes a lot of Sarah. Everything seems to be perfect but all of sudden some things, some secrets, came up and everything changes between Miles and Sarah and they have to find out a way to solve this problem and decide if the love is strong enough to continue your lives together.

Absolutely gripping story of romance, remorse & forgiveness, all emotions synonymous for love that is beyond the words can express. A must read for the die-hard romance enthusiasts.
