I binge bite my finger nails to a painful, bloody nub. I've tried all kinds of nail hardener/fixer etc but this is the best so far. My problem area is the top edge of the nail where I manage to catch a rough part which leads to pulling out part of the nail which occasionally is deep enough to bleed. When I first applied this stuff My hands were dry and clean. I applied a light coating over the problem areas only. This stuff dried to a smooth surface. I reapply every couple of days or as needed, and occasionally buff with a very smooth sandpaper. I don't have any "white" nail tips yet but I have managed to abstain from messing with my nails at all,(obviously necessary haha) and am waiting for my nails to grow to the point I can use an emery stick. If the product works well I will revisit and give it 5 stars, just rec'd a week or so. I have noticed the bitter taste because it seems to permeate everything I touch, so even if you don't actively bite your nails you'll probably notice a bitter taste, but it's minor and I'm into my 2nd week of no biting and will update to 5 stars when I have enough nail to file I can't address how this product will work regarding combination of regular nail polish etc because I don't use that stuff. Also avoid any finger foods like French fries etc this stuff is very bitter and it travels. Update 1/27/24 No biting so far, almost a month (yay) but need to add please be careful of getting this stuff in your eyes by unconscious rubbing ! June 20, 2024 Ok, time for an update: I started using this stuff beginning of Jan, 2024. By mid April my nails were long enough to file down, except for thumbs and rt hand middle finger (the one we use in traffic); apparently finger nails grow at different speeds like our hair. It's taken awhile for my nails to grow out but during the process this product did its job. I am very satisfied. Anytime I start worrying my thumbnails or any other I dab a little bit of the product on the danger zone. I know if I mess with it, then mess with my mustache the taste will end up in my mouth and it's a bitter taste that takes awhile to go away. I've upped my review to 5 stars. This is the best product for not only stopping the mutilation of my finger tips, but also work's for ongoing treatment, maintenance etc.

Normally I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to in this instance because of how effective this product is. First off, it is vile. I am a chronic nail biter (who falls off the wagon now and then) and given that my professions are in corrections and the medical field, I probably shouldn't be. I bought this stuff two years ago to quit the habit and my god... every time I forget I have the stuff on and go to gnaw on my finger a little, I'm reminded of the way a decaying corpse smells. I imagine that if I licked a decaying corpse (I would never), this is what it would taste like. What's more, the taste lingers and punishes you long after you've gagged on your own fingertip. If you're looking for a deterrent, this is the product for you. The only major downside is that it also taints everything you touch. May as well forget eating those cheetos out of the bag or taste testing some batter. In fact, don't even touch your face. I took a shower later in the day after my first application and I could taste it from the water running down my face. On the plus side...it also encourages you to wear gloves and refrain from touching your face. This stuff lasts. In my professions, I wash my hands an ungodly number of times per day and even so I usually don't have to reapply the stuff for a week or so. It is also versatile. I have a coworker who suspected people were stealing her plastic silverware from her personal drawer so she lightly coated some of her spoons with it. One culprit was convinced she had been poisoned because the coated spoon tainted her soup and made the whole thing taste dreadful. My coworker tested it herself before putting it into use and said she had to drink two capri suns and a number of teddy grahams to even begin to get the taste out of her mouth. Bottom line... it's highly effective. Vile, but effective.

It's perfect for nail-biting cessation! I gotta say, the taste is absolutely horrible. It's a cross between an old sock (the taste you might experience while taking a sniff of one) and a very, very ripe grapefruit you found on the ground. The taste will linger in your mouth for a bit, too. Mints barely nullify the flavor, also. The smell is very "nail polish-y" initially, but after a bit of time, and perhaps after a hand wash, there won't be a smell. Which, can be...problematic... Not having a smell means you're almost guaranteed to forget about the polish and accidentally make contact with your mouth within the first few days you start using the product. You only do that, and regret you did that, a few times before you stop putting your fingers anywhere near your mouth. It really does work, tastes terrible, and lingers long enough to punish you every time you forget. I will say, if you're used to being able to lick salt or something off your fingers while eating, you will ruin your meal continuing to do that with this stuff on. It lasts for about 1.5-days with a couple of applications during the day, including handwashing. I was a religious handwasher before, and with COVID and a toddler, that has remained or increased in frequency. However, I was surprised and pleased when I didn't have to reapply this stuff after every hand wash! Do yourself a favor. If you're tired of biting your nails till they bleed, using tools to get farther in there than even your teeth can get, causing even more trouble, and being unable to pick up small items without pain, you need this product. I've used other stuff similar to this and could eventually ignore the bad flavoring. This stuff...you can't ignore it. It will linger in the back of your mouth and ruin anything you eat/drink for about 2-minutes.

what can I say about this no bite polish?? We’ll start with where this all began...my childhood. Since being a smol child I’ve have the bad habit of chewing or putting my fingers in my mouth. My father actually tried putting pepper and hot sauce on my tiny fingers to discourage the vice. Little did he know- my tastes had evolved and I grew to like the hot sauce and pepper. My haha. Years have gone by since then. I’ve grown and matured into a successful business bi**h. I have it all- the career, the family, the pantsuits. Only one thing is missing- manicured hands, because I can’t stop picking or chewing my nails. One day after browsing several mindless social media sites I see an article about “must have products!” I bite (haha get it?) and I look through the article and see the recommendation for this polish. For the price and reviews-I press the one-click button and take a chance. Now dear readers this is where my life got twisted upside down. Application of the polish is simple enough. It’s clear, so I brushed a coat on my naked nails and then added some extra coating around my damaged cuticles. I let it dry and I head off to bed. Morning time: approximately 7 hours after application. I rub my eyes after awaking and then grab my multivitamins off my nightstand- pop them into my mouth and take a swig of water. Instantly a foul disgusting taste rises into my mouth. I quickly chug water trying to rinse the bitterness from my tastebuds. No luck. I remember the polish and think-aha it’s supposed to taste gross, don’t put your fingers in your mouth! So idk if y’all know this but the average person in a day will have to put their fingers somewhere near,close, or in their mouth throughout the day. I didn’t know this until I put this polish on, because omg- the entire day I was reminded of my curse as I unwrapped gum, put chapstick on, drank from a straw, ate grapes, rested my hand on my chin, yawned, etc. The bitter disgusting taste from the polish lingered everywhere. There’s no escaping it. And I have not had any desire to put my fingers in my mouth because I dread that taste. My life has changed since using this polish. I’m more attentive to my basic movements and live in fear of the bitter taste creeping in unexpectedly. Totally recommend this product to kick your habit but beware of the lingering side effects....I’m only on day 3 of the polish but it feels like this fear will never subside and I’ll forever be stuck with this nasty-a** polish that has destroyed everything I love. 10/10

Update - I've now been using this for 18 days (2/27 - 3/16) and I have not bitten or chewed even one time. It really works and I couldn't be happier! I have been chewing my nails for my entire life. I have never found anything that worked. The stuff you can buy in a store tastes a little bitter but eventually you get used to that and can continue to chew. Also, that stuff is very watery and doesn't stay applied for very long. This product tastes absolutely horrible! It is by far the most disgusting taste for a nail biting deterrent that I have ever experienced. And it actually applies like nail polish so it sticks around. I have only had it for a day but I have not engaged in even the least bit of chewing since I've put this stuff on my fingers. I've made the mistake of putting a finger in my mouth and immediately it tastes horrible. And I only does it taste horrible, but the taste lingers in your mouth in the back of your throat. I think I have finally found something that's going to end my finger chewing and nail biting for good!

Work way too well. Put this on my daughter and she did really want to eat its because the taste of it will transfer to her food. After refusing 2 meals, I stopped using it. If you have a little girl(well, she is 6) like I do that want to get her nail painted but was not allowed to because she kept biting her nails. She got a nail polish set for her birthday from long time ago and 2 weeks ago, i finally took my time to really clean and buff her nail so we can paint her nails.I let her choose the color she want for her individual nail. She was so happy to get her nails painted. A week passed and she haven't bit her nails. Just painted her nail again yesterday with her crazy mixing nail polish ideas and a few nails with glitter nail polish. Her nails has growing from only a few centimeters to covering most of her nail bed. Be sure to keep her nail in check by talking about it and complement on it if you decided to try.

I used to love doing my own nails. Then I went and got acrylic nails and my nails became brittle after taking them off. I had a dent in my nails from when the acrylic nails were. Since then, I’ve been biting my nails but now they’re healthier and I hate it that I keep biting them. So I got this and it works! YES, IT’S GOING TO HAVE A BITTER TASTE. That’s the point! People complain that it gets on their food. I have to disagree. The first time I ate a snack, I forgot it was on and when I put the food in my mouth with my hand, I tasted the polish but it did NOT get ON my food. Instead, I grabbed the popcorn with my fingers and put it in the palm of my hand, and then put it in my mouth. The popcorn did NOT taste like the nail polish even when I grabbed it with my fingers. When I ate chips, I grabbed them with my finger and made sure the tips of my fingers were at the bottom half of the chips so my fingers wouldn’t go in my mouth... again, my chips did not taste like the nail polish. It’s annoying to be cautious while I eat, floss, or wipe my mouth, but it’s only until I break this bad habit and it’ll be worth it. Lastly, I swear my nails grew over night. I only used it for two days so far. I applied in the morning and when I woke up the next day, they looked A LITTLE BIT longer. I also like the fact that it literally dries in a minute or less. I’ve only used on bare nails so I’m not sure if the drying time would be the same with regular polish under it. Maybe I’ll come back on in a month and do an updated review. I already took the before picture so I’ll see what it looks like in a month. UPDATE: it’s been 7 days since I used it. I LOVE THIS STUFF! I put on a new coat every day. I started last Sunday, and now it’s Saturday and I took the polish off and added a new coat. My nails grew like crazy within the first week. My nails have NEVER grown that fast and they have never been this strong. Too bad this nail polish taste horrible because otherwise I would use it as my go to. I don’t want to stop using it but eventually I will have to. It’s literally a miracle polish. The only thing I didn’t like (besides the taste) is the fact that it peels off easily. After washing dishes and/or taking a shower, I notice that some of the polish either came off or it would be peeling off, which is why I applied a new coat daily. I can’t wait to see what my nails will look like in a month.

I’ve had a horrible habit of bitting my fingernails for as long as I can remember. So self conscious of this and embarrassed about it, I’d hide my nails as much as possible because I didn’t want people to see them. For years I’ve been trying to break this habit, usually I couldn’t make it past a week without slipping up and bitting them down to the nub again. Most of the time I didn’t realize I was biting at my nails, it was a way I coped with stress. I tried lots of stuff, try to form a different habit I could do when I was stressed or uneasy, I even tried wearing gloves all the time hoping that would help. It didn’t, wasn’t practical, I’d forget to put them back on. Then this stuff came along! Only took me 21 years! My husband found this product and I figured why not let’s try it. This did the trick! It worked!! I am so happy with the results and how it helped me break this nasty habit! I set an alarm everyday to remind me to reapply it. I used this product up to week 4 and I didn’t need it anymore. I had stop entirely! So I painted my nails! The product overall is amazing, does the job! The taste is terrible! But that’s good! Lol it last about a day. I work with my hands a lot so may last longer for some people. I goes on clear and it’s kinda dull so you can’t really tell you have anything on, chips some but still works. I’m not embarrassed about my nails anymore! They are so pretty! I knew how unsanitary it is to bite your nails and it’s not good for the nail bed or the skin around it. You can do it! This stuff will help you break your habit!!
