Ribbon embroidery bible
I absolutely love these A-Z series from Australian publisher. I bought many of them on different needlework subjects and they are all outstanding. This particular one on ribbon embroidery features a various techniques as well as completed projects. The techniques are step by step, with each step photographed and described. It is very easy to teach yourself ribbon embroidery with this book. All projects provide a supply list. I own multiple books on ribbon embroidery as well and can say that this book is one of the most comprehensive on the subject. I also recommend books by Ann Cox, Helen Ericsson and Di Van Niekerk if you want to master this craft.

Well put together book!
Arrived on time with no packaging issues. I love the step by step illustrations. List of material and stitches are included in every project. Planing on buying other books in this series. Would recommend to anyone interested in ribbon embroidery.

A Beautiful Addition to My Embroidery Library
While I have never done Ribbon Embroidery, I was up to try something new and this fit the bill. It is a very good book and gives step by step instructions with pictures. It also has some project ideas that I think I will be able to do. I believe this book would suit the novice and experienced Ribbon Embroider.

Good beginner book for ribbon embroidery
I’m teaching myself how to do ribbon embroidery and this seems to be a good guide to basic stitches.

Good for my purposes
I do like it but I think it could have been a bit more comprehensive. As a newbie to the art it is very helpful.

Very Satisfied
The book is very educational. I make all my greeting cards; do scrap booking and make doll outfits for Good Fellow dolls. I can now make flowers (in the color I want) and not have to purchase them. There is a large variety of beautiful flowers.

Clear photographs and decent instructions
Very nice book with photographs as stitch instructions. I usually prefer diagrams but these photographs are pretty clear, and plenty of them to show step by step the stitch. Clear printing on a reasonably substantial paper. The book is not spiral bound but has a special binding that allows the book the lay pretty flat when opened in the middle, but needs to be weighted down (or a book holder) when opened towards the end pages. Still, pretty good binding. There are some step by step instructions for a few individual elements, e.g. a daffodil flower head. The projects themselves are not step by step so there is a need to flip from the front of the book where the basic stitches are shown, to the project picture, to the back of the book for the line placement drawing. Each project consists of a large photograph of the finished protect, requirements e.g. thread, beads, fabric, a box with most of the stitches used including reference page numbers, work order, and a line placement drawing (at the back of the book). These drawings have different stitches/methods shown by different shapes, e.g. lines to show stem stitch, or circles to show woven rose. The threads and ribbons typically used are Anchor and DMC stranded cotton, Anchor Marlitt (stranded Rayon), Rajmahal Art Silk (six strand divisible, silk and viscose mix), YSI silk floss, YSI silk ribbon (Japanese brand), Kacoonda silk ribbon (hand dyed in Australia), Glen Lorin silk ribbon (hand dyed in Australia), Hanah silk ribbon (hand dyed, bias cut to fray for carnations), Marie Hall delica beads, Mill Hill seed beeds. So quite a mix of threads, beads, and ribbons (I may have missed some) if an exact copy of a project is wanted, but I will likely just use what I can get a hold of. I might just buy white silk ribbon and colour myself with some marker pens (that I saw in a how to video by crafty attic) to save having to order many colours (and besides which I like faffing around).Anyway, I am pleased with this book and have my eye on another couple in the series (goldwork, stumpwork).

Five Stars
An excellent, excellent book beautifully illustrated, just what I needed, it covers every aspect of this beautiful craft, now all I have to do is find the time to get going with it.If you are just getting interested in this craft or if you can only buy one book make it this one, but I think it is also a very good reference book for all levels. It does not have a list of suppliers, but I suppose these day with the Internet it is not really needed, (and if a book goes on for years they can become out of date.)It arrived before the due date and it was just as stated 'new', I could not ask for more, so therefore five stars all round.
