I'm in the saddle a lot for climbing on a hardtail 29'er, so this is OK for short rides, but don't expect any forgiveness. Perfect for my 10 mile ride, which is 7 miles in the burly woods and a 1.5 mile road ride each way there and back. Give or take another 3 miles in the woods, it's comfortable. I have a WTB Rocket on my street bike, which would also work well on a MTB, if you prefer more padding with a similar profile.
