I really stuck to the instructions of using twice a day for probably 8 weeks. Did reduce spider veins that were superficial but not big ones & no effect on deep ones. Books were expensive. Victorians used Horse Chestnut wood to make bookcases because spiders hate the smell and will not go near the wood - hence no cobwebs on your expensive library. (Dust still a problem though). I use this gel as a natural method of dissuading spiders. I smear a small amount on the undersides of shelves, beds, chairs and in corners. Places where spiders are likely to run or lurk. I also use it around the inside of window frames and doors. The gel is a light brown color, but dries clear and I have never had a problem with staining. (Do a 'spot' check on a hidden part of your furniture first) My house, basement and garage stay cobweb free for 12 to 18 months. This has worked in my previous house in the UK and in my current house in the Mid West USA. Rain or high humidity can reduce effectiveness outside.
