Review: Dog loves this toy. A lot. - Let this be said first. I HATE this toy. It's loud. It's annoying. It scares me in the middle of the night if I walk too close to wherever my prankster dog has left it hidden. Did I mention that it's loud? Now that that's out of the way, let me tell you a few things about the ball I got for my dog for Christmas 2014. Keep in mind that I have an 80 pound energetic young counter-surfing chew-happy Rhodesian Ridgeback. And the ball I bought was a small size. As I may have mentioned, he's a chewer. This toy broke in half today. That is, like, a record for him. He's a tube o tennis balls a week kind of guy, and this stupid little ball lasted him (barely) over a year. He just walks around with it in his mouth giving you goofy looks while the ball makes animal noises and they echo around in his skull. Occasionally he tosses it as high as he can and then chases it after it lands on the floor and rolls off (it's an old house, the floors are slightly slanted, don't judge), which is why the ball broke. He tossed it a bit to high and the seam finally gave way. I was initially concerned because of the hard plastic shell, but after a month of constant supervision I realised that he was okay with the ball and stopped watching so closely. It has also been a source of constant amusement to him. He likes to tuck it away just off of the high traffic areas and just out of sight to his humans. Then, as his humans walk past and activate it and jump 50 feet in the air, there he his. Standing there. Wagging his tail and giving you a doggy grin. You can almost hear him laughing.... Seriously, odds are you will hate this stupid little ball. But, it will totally be cancelled out while you watch as your little buddy does goofy crap with it. Heck, mine broke his 10 minutes ago and here I am, ordering another one, knowing that in a week I'll be cursing again. Don't let your dog play with it unattended, at least until you know whether or not they are going to try to break it into a billionty pieces and eat it. I imagine that it could break into sharp shards. For some reason though, my dog didn't try to kill this one. Hopefully you're dog will like it as much as mine does. Hopefully you won't hate it as much as I do. :)
Review: Noisy, but worth it! - OMG, my 6-month old high energy breed pup goes absolutely NUTS for this!! Several weeks in and it's still a consistent attention grabber--and keeper! She never seems to get bored with it, which is a god send when I need a few minutes to get something done without constant puppy distraction! That said, I try not to use it too often just to make sure it keeps its allure. On the downside, it's extremely sensitive to jostling and frequently "goes off" when you move anywhere near the toy bin, or breathe too loudly, or look at it, lol! Seriously though I love it, and so far so good on her not destroying it. But it is hard plastic... seems sturdy and thick, but I'm always skeptical of hard plastic dog toys. My girl LOVES to chew, but she's only ~35 lbs now hasn't mastered the art of destruction yet. If you have a "gifted" chewer with jaws of steel, this may last longer than most hard plastic, but I wouldn't leave them alone with it for more than a few minutes at a time. Also, if they're the type who likes to throw their own toys around, this one my wind up breaking things or bruising shins.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Making noises before opening package
*by B***6 on December 18, 2017*

Bought this toy for our grand dog. She loves it. Played with it for hours at our house and then for a few hours at her house until the thing stopped making sounds. I suspect the battery is dead as it was activated when we took it out of our mailbox...someone who packed it for shipment must have thought it would drive the carrier nuts as it made noises at the slightest movement. I noticed the plastic key wasn't in the battery box, but was pulled. I will inspect when dog comes back for a visit and change battery if that is the case. I left off a star because of the short life and will update if the battery is at fault. Update: Batteries were at fault. Replaced three L44 on 12/19/17 and the ball is back to making all sorts of noise. I will keep track of how long these batteries last and will update this review later. Update 1/3/18 Ball lasted about 8 hrs when it sounded no more. Batteries are good, the ball quit making noise. It will occasionally give a couple of animal sounds, but mostly quiet. Hasn't stopped the grandpup. She loves pushing it with her nose until its hidden under some furniture or some other hard to reach place. As I type this update, I can hear her grunting because the ball is out of reach again. Photos of pup (Rhys) digging through the insides of her bed where the ball slipped out through a hole in which was too small for Rhys's body to pass. We thought of leaving her there so we could have some peace and quiet, but had to snap a few photos first. Once released, mayhem continued.
