My dummy handle needed to be flat. I found them at builder.com. **Q: Once the it is locked, it won't unlock. It is just stuck. Is there a trick?** A: Hi there On the door lever, I assume you have locked it with the turning lock mechanism. Have you tried using a coin (or flat head screwdriver) on the indentation on the other lever to try to unlock it? See video. It’s been awhile since I installed this lever but, I suggest taking it apart and re-installing. I seem to recall there was a need to line up “some” inner mechanisms for the lever to work properly. I also thought I was able to check it was working before I installed the 2nd lever over the inner mechanisms (i.e. before screwing it together). In addition to this lever, I had installed 4 matching Amazon basics knobs on bedroom doors at the same time and they all worked fine. So unless there is something inherently broken with the one you received, I’m guessing something was missed in the install steps. Hope this helps. **Q: Can the passage handle be installed on an entry door? I am trying to use this in combination with passcode locking deadbolt.** A: I would think so as I installed the passage handle on a inside entry door feeling I did not need two doors with locks as it was a entry way room. **Q: Would it be easy to use my old key with this lock, or do I have to take to a locksmith to re-key it?** A: Well, this handle does not have a traditional key. I don’t see how it can be rekeyed. It comes with a small “key” to unlock the handle which is more like a special tool to unlock the door if say you accidentally locked yourself out of the room. This Amazon handle fit the Kwikset latch that was already in the door, and a side-by-side comparison of the old and new latches showed them to be exactly the same. The mechanism inside the handle also appears to be largely the same. Made this an easy drop-in replacement. Took about 5 minutes total to replace everything, including swapping the levers from right to left hand. Its been in use for a few days. It feels solid and works smoothly.
