I usually put a paper towel folded up on the top and pump it, so I’m not sure if it would work for hand sanitizer or not. **Q: I saw 2 reviews that cannot confirm leak proof during travel. Has anyone traveled with this?? Will this leak during travel?** A: This is the best nail polish remover dispenser. I have not traveled with it. If you're going to be putting acetone, alcohol or any other similar chemical in it, I would advise against traveling with the chemical inside it, especially in an airplane where the pressure will cause it to expand and leak, and a ziploc won't do enough to prevent the saturation of other items in your suitcase -- not worth the risk. Option 1: If you can empty it and buy your nail polish remover (or chemical of choice) at your destination, that would be ideal. Option 2: This item is inexpensive enough, you can purchase an extra one and have it shipped to your destination, then buy your chemical there. I recently did option 2 when I traveled to visit my sister. We planned to do nail stamping together so I ordered an extra one of these from Amazon and had it shipped directly to her then bought nail polish remover to fill it with upon arrival. She loved it and was able to keep it when I left. Bottom line, I would not travel with it full of any caustic chemical that you are fearful will damage other items in your suitcase. Β I recently purchased this and tried it out at home. it fits the bill for easy access when removing nail polish. I don't fill it all the way, maybe just 2 ounces at a time. The top does have a lock feature so you don't accidentally discharge the fluid. My overall star rating is 4 instead of 5 because the pump could be a little more reactive. It takes several pump sometimes to get the liquid flowing.People have asked if this is safe to travel with. This is not safe to travel with.
