They have sat proudly on display since then. When I heard that Playmobil had made the Ghostbusters 2 Ecto-1A version of the vehicle, I ordered it immediately! The body and wheels of the car are identical to the original version, except for the factory applied paint details. All of the logos and emergency markings are pre-applied so you don't have to worry about putting stickers on crooked or pealing off with use. Some assembly required means, you have to put together each of the four part wheels with rubber tires, and clip in the rear hatch (plus a few detail parts like the headlights/taillights). The roof details have to be snapped in place in the roof rack and some stickers applied, but it's pretty simple. I'm really impressed at the level of detail Playmobil put into these toys, as not only are details pieces mostly unique to each version of the car, but the entire roof rack with electronics is unique (though interchangeable) as well. This version also features MORE lights then the first version, with 6 LEDs in each light bar instead of 4. To change/install the batteries you will need a small philips head screwdriver, but that's the only thing you needs tools for. Also, it isn't made a big deal of on the package, but the "We're Back" signs on the roof are lenticular holograms. They are kind of dark, but it's still a cool effect and a nice touch by the manufacturers. Also, this version comes with all four original Ghostbusters in there GB2 version jumpsuits with proton packs x2, Slim Blowers x2, a Giga Meter x1 and a trap x1. (Another great detail as the Giga Meter only appears in GB2). All four figures fit into the car and there are storage places for the backpacks and trap inside. To sum up, if YOU or you child is a Ghostbusters fan, this is a fantastic toy/collectible. The toy is built/designed to survive a child's play time, but there are tons of details that show that the set was made by fans of the Ghostbusters, for fans of the Ghostbusters!
