Haven’t tried it for donuts but I see how it would work. Easy to clean which is good because you shouldn’t put it in a dishwasher. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not bad but not as good as the Popeil *by L***G on February 13, 2021* I used to use my 60 year old Popeil donut maker. Then the plastic broke so I thought i would try this one. It works almost as well and I made 60 donuts with one recipe! I recommend just soaking it in your dishwater and it’s easy to clean. You need a good recipe to make good donuts and the batter should be thick, otherwise it will be a runny mess. Here is the Popeil recipe that I like: 2.25 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg, 1 Tbs softened butter, 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla and 3/4 cup milk. Add wet ingredients to dry. Fry in 2” of oil at 365 degrees. Drain on paper towels and roll in sugar. It takes a bit of practice. Keep the dough 1” above the oil when you dispense it for better control. The main difference that is a negative for me between the two donut makers is the spacing between the container and the Small base at bottom.
