I was impressed that the glue was durable and flexible enough to be used to bond the seam on the urethane rubber boot, so I began using it for other purposes as well and found it to be exceptionally versatile and generally equal to or better than the other type of superglue for almost all applications. I think it is less brittle and less prone to cracking then regular superglue and that seems to be the main advantage. Also, based on what some of the other reviews said, it is also uniquely useful for bonding silicone. The drying time is similar to other cyanoacrylate based glues - very fast, especially on your fingers. The consistency is a little thicker than water thin superglue, but it is not as thick as gel superglue. Although, I have had a bottle that thickened up with age to the point where it was about the consistency of gel superglue. Like most superglue, you need to be careful to clean the end before putting the lid back on otherwise it can get to the point where the bottle is unusable (or you have to poke a needle in to get the glue to come out). It's very different to regular cyanoacrylate (crazy) glues. The 401 sticks far better to plastics, including nylon. It has something to do with acid content, you can find more online about it. The 401 is the best I've come accross for nylon. Using regular instant adhesive on nylon (and many other materials) will produce poor results. Research the best formulation of instant glue for your application.
