Review: Not perfect, but it works well - I bought this product to keep my laptop locked to the table in my bedroom where I keep it. I couldn't use the screws because of the table material, so I just used the adhesive. It is good and strong. Yes, I could probably get it off if I really wanted to, but if someone took the time and energy to get the anchor off I would definitely notice it. The idea is to keep someone from just walking off with my laptop when my back is turned (or I'm in the bathroom). I'm not stupid enough to think that the lock would be able to stop a determined thief who had time to work on it. It is just right for me. I bought another one for my desk, which is much sturdier. I also keep my bedroom door locked when I'm gone (I put a deadbolt on it). There isn't anything else that would be worth the money for the little bit of extra protection it would give and I'm satisfied. If you want to keep people from taking your laptop in a public setting, you might not like this item. There aren't too many public settings where you would have authority to install it anyway. If you want to keep someone from casually walking off with your computer in a more private setting, this works well.
Review: Why companies don't provide locking attachments in conference rooms I'll never know - I put one of these in each conference room that I end up using frequently. Why the company does not buy "AV/Power inserts" with locking provisions I don't know. Perhaps it's just me that uses a CR for more than an hour? I used to use rope hasps and/or latch parts and security screws until I found these. It's nice and compact and fold flat - as flat as the A/V center modules at least (no hasp sticking up like when I'd ghetto them). The grey cover is modern enough People complain about adhesion - And that varies. Certainly it won't stick well to the underside of a desk or table. It does stick pretty well to the top of a smooth top table. But a determined person can still work it off. But then consider - at some point the attachment to your laptop is more fragile than this tape. For ultimate I highly recommend using the included security screws. You'll need to bring in a drill (cordless or hand (ha!)) and a screwdriver. Two screws. Just stick it down with the tape - leaving room on the side for the cover (don't put it right up against the AV insert). Drill away, blow most of the sawdust out of the way, and run the screws in. Done. I put it along one of the ends and it looks like corporate installed it - and close enough to center for all. Which is another good thing - the rectangle is big enough for any - and lots - of lock ends to go through. So everybody can party and lock off of this one latch. Worried about getting caught? I pretty much don't. Pretty much anything "done with purpose" doesn't warrant more than a glance. And the one time somebody looked I said "I'm putting in a locking security latch" for which the response was "Thanks for taking care of that". So remember - the tape is "only OK" - which might actually be OK. It won't come off easily. But a determined person can get it off. The screws are solid and my recommendation.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How good for outdoor use? will it rust? I want to attach to a gravestone.**
A: I don't think the anchor will rust, but a laptop won't last too long outside attached to a gravestone.

**Q: I originally installed the lock with the adhesive, but now I'm trying to redo it with the screws. How do I remove the grey plastic cover?**
A: If you want something more useful than "the cover just pops off" (eyeroll) ... there are four tabs all behind what are 4 nubs on the outside of the cover. They're really hard to get at once it's installed. If you just used the adhesive like I did, you can pry off the whole thing first, then it will be a lot easier to "pop off" the cover so you can mount it with screws.

**Q: Can this be used with a tablet?**
A: We used it for a laptop so I believe it can be used for a tablet.

**Q: Can lock picking lawyer pick this lock?**
A: Depends on how good the lawyer is at picking locks. Almost all locks can be defeated, given enough time. I’m very happy with mine.

Easy to set up and use, not too small. The cable fits through it. Adheres well to desk. A great deterrent.
