This is not chef grade quality at all. It is Not the sturdiest product. The two metal pins that hold the slicer to the base fall out and if you lose them the product is useless.Does a “so-so” job of slicing eggs, would not stand up to any sort of heavy use. The base is sturdy but that is about the only good thing about this poorly made product. Don’t use it for anything else as it is NOT sturdy.I would have returned this item as it didn’t meet expectations; however it was under $10 so wasn’t worth my time and the hassle to return.I would NOT buy this item again nor recommend it to anyone. ### ⭐ Product is UNSAFE to use with food. *by W***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2017* This product is exceptionally low quality and NOT SAFE FOR FOOD USE. 1) The 'Food grade coating' is unevenly applied and ours arrived in the package with chips and scratches out of it. 2) The die cast aluminum base was never deburred (the process by which excess medal from the seems of the die is cleanly removed prior to finishing a product). This resulted slivers of partially coated metal that are loosely attached to the base to come into uneven contact with the slicing wires. The first few times I opened and closed the slicing wires metal shards were dislodged from the base and flung outward.In the picture attached you can see one of the shards I was able to recover. You can also see the uneven burred edges on the base of which I spoke. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. ### ⭐⭐ Comercial kitchens beware *by W***. on Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2019* We have been using the same egg slicer for about 20 years when a employee broke the base. I purchased what I thought would be a quality replacement. The wires are very thick so it is hard to get thru a egg cleanly.
