They take less than 5 minutes to cook after you get the water boiling. Also, I found that you can get the hot water from a K Cup coffee maker and mix and let it sit and that makes great oatmeal as well. Great product and it sits for a long time. The consistency is also extremely mushy, even for quick oats. I'd like to think to myself that it's just a matter of oats grown in extremely clay-rich soil or something, but I've eaten oats for years from a lot of different brands/markets, and I've never tasted any difference anywhere near this notable, nor unpleasant. Bottom line, it tastes like I'm eating a high concentration of a chemical.
