Product Description PURINA PROPLAN Canine FortiFlora is a complementary pet food with live probiotic suitable for dogs of all ages, including puppies. It contains live "friendly" bacteria that help support intestinal health and balance, and a healthy immune system. FORTIFLORA can be useful to help manage digestive upsets or poor stool quality caused by imbalance in the intestinal bacteria. This can occur due to illness, stress, antibiotic therapy, dietary changes or just due to older age. FORTIFLORA can be given before and during anticipated gastro-intestinal stress periods, like travelling, to help maintain good faecal quality. This product is highly palatable so can act as a palatability enhancer for sick or dogs with poor appetite - it can be easily sprinkled on top of any dog foods. One sachet is given daily and although improvements in signs of digestive upset may be seen within a few days, for maximum effect FORTIFLORA should be fed for 30 days. Review: TLDR: Absolutely amazing product but needs consistency to see results. - After an awful anal gland infection, 2 and a half months of antibiotics our elderly malamutes gut health was in shambles. Vets prescribed yet another antibiotic which worked amazing while on it but the runny poo every 20 minutes came back just as quick off them. We tried all the rapid care available, no change. Gastrointestinal specific food, nothing. Started the fortiflora on the recommendation of a vet nurse and we didn't see much change in consistency but significantly reduced frequency by the end of month one. By month three we are back to normal consistency and frequency. Fortiflora wont give you quick results but the long term benefits and recovery of the gut biome cannot be disputed. Memphis seems to like the taste and the powder has a slight artificial meat smell but not overwhelming. You also only need 1g which compared to other brands is significantly less powder to add to his food which means he actually eats it!!
Review: The ONLY thing that has worked! - This powder is s life saver. Our youngest dog had a bout of diarrhoea and was straining so badly he was dripping blood and his rear end was very inflamed. We took him to the vet who examined him and recommended this powder over the paste they actually sell at the surgery. She said both her and her partner who is also a vet think this is the most effective probiotic on the market. We hate using the paste anyway as its so messy and sticks in our dogs fur, so having a powder form was the first bonus. Within a day of using the powder, our baby’s poo started to firm up and he stopped straining. Normally we would rely on strong antibiotics to achieve this but the powder was just as effective. And here is the best part. Both our youngest and eldest dogs have always suffered with loose bowels on our walks, they will start off firm but they will get looser and looser, and absolutely nothing we have tried (and we have tried every type of different dog food and supplements) has ever made a difference til now. The last week they have gone from multiple poos on a walk to just one or two each and no straining. I wish we had known about this sooner. It’s not cheap, but it’s a small price to pay for such a positive impact on our dog’s health. We will continue to give to all our dogs and absolutely recommend it to anyone else who has dogs with poorly tummy’s. Finally, all the dogs, even the baby who is very fussy and who will spit out anything he thinks is remotely medication like, absolutely loves the taste of this, so it’s easy just to add to their food, sprinkled on and mixed it.

Perfect for my 18 month old German shepherd dog. Our vet recommended that I buy this probitic as she was prone to getting issues with her bowels. One sachet sprinkled on her rare food daily has solved the issue.
