Not limited **Q: Is there an issue with the rechargeable battery in the new Beats Studio headphones (black)?** A: I'm not really sure what some of the people are saying on here. The battery in the Beats Studio headphones is a modern Li-ion unit. Leaving it plugged into the charger for long periods of time won't affect the battery. You can plug them in overnight and be fine. Gone are the days where devices over-charge. You had to worry about that with Ni-MH batteries but not modern Li-ion ones. You don't have to worry about the battery keeping it's calibration curve or anything like that. Just use the headphones as normal and charge them when the battery is getting low.Additionally, the battery will last you for a good 18-20 hours of listening, way more than the 8 hour number given my Haoran. They are correct in saying that you may have to charge the headphones right out of the box but their 8 hour number is incorrect. **Q: Why do they have a battery?** A: They're like little powered noise cancelling speakers **Q: Why are these cheaper than the ones in the Apple Store? I managed to get them on sale for around $100 off. I have to say, the price is extremely high, but it is not a total deal breaker because of the experience with the headphones.First of all, I will talk about the sound. I am a huge music lover, so I like really having good sound in my headphones. One reason I purchased the wired version over wireless is because the bass is better on wired. The bass is absolutely incredible. I'm a drummer, so I like to be able to hear the drums and the bass. The drums are so crisp and easy to hear, but not overpowering. The bass is truly incredible. If you get a song with good bass, take off the headphones (Preventing ear damage), and blast it as loud as it can, you can feel the headphones vibrate significantly. With a normal volume and having them on your head, you can really feel the bass.So in summary about the bass, if you want a good experience listening to "Stressed Out" by Twenty-One Pilots, these headphones are right for you. In terms of overall music genres that sound best, I certainly think rock, alternative, and pop without a ton of synthesizers is nice. Any music with a ton of the synthesizers just doesn't sound the best, as I don't think the beats can really deliver the sound they can with the high-pitched synthesizers like it can with guitars and drums. Overall, I feel these Beats Studio 2.0s deliver fantastic sound.Second of all, I'll talk about comfort. These beats are not the least comfortable, yet not the most comfortable. In terms of material, the area around the ear cups appear to be a soft pleather material. The material on the part that would be touching your head is very soft, and feels slightly like the arm rests in the Inscription model of the 2016 Volvo XC90, so it's a very soft, cushiony, material. These headphones are pretty comfortable for me, but if you have them on for an extended period of time, they will make your head a bit sore. I've tried on my friend's Bose Soundlink Mini Wireless headphones, and they are significantly more comfortable than these. They have a pleather material all around what would be touching your head, and they are much lighter. Overall, these get a 4/5 when it comes to comfort.Third of all, I will discuss the build quality. Overall, these Beats do seem very durable. However, I did have an instance where I dropped them from about two and a half feet in the air, while inside the hard zipper case that comes including, and the sound stopped coming out of one ear. I notified Beats about the problem, and they replaced them for free (we had warranty of course). The customer service was very helpful and they replaced them quickly. But overall, these beats are pretty durable.Finally, I will be talking about other cons of these headphones. The major con is that they are priced very high. However, if you can get them on sale, it is definitely worth the bang for your buck. In terms of noise cancellation, these really shouldn't be advertised as noise cancelling. Yes, putting them on does drown out a little noise, but I can easily still hear a conversation around me, the loudness of a school bus, and a classroom with a normal noise level. Also, the charging situation is not ideal. I understand having to charge them to get the noise cancellation, but when these things run out of battery, they won't play any music at all. I think they should take the power from the device to play music when not charged. The battery life is very long however.In conclusion these headphones delivery great sound quality overall, with excellent bass, they are for the most part comfortable, but not the most comfortable, and they are reasonably durable. I found a used pair that claimed to be in almost new condition. It was a gamble ordering used as aposed to new because you never know if your going to get what they claim. But I have to say that beside a small tear in the corner of the packaging they were in mint condition. They came with all te accessories and even had the beats sticker that comes with every pair of headphones you purchase. This is my second pair of beats headphones. My first pair was the beats "urbeats" ear buds. They were good headphones besides the inline controls constantly failing. But this review is for my studio 2.0's. The packaging as usual is very impressive. Eveything has a place and is nearly packed into a very attractive cube. Even though these were used they didn't have one single flaw on the actual product nor a flaw on the accessories. They came fully charged so I instantly plugged in the cable and hooked them to my iPhone. I was impressed right away. I was running my dyson vacuum while listening to Florida Georgia line, and I couldn't hear more than a slight hum from the vacuum. People complain about a hiss from the noise canceling. But I heard nothing of the sort. I have tested the old studios and chose not to purchase because they were far from impressive. The bass drowned out eveythimg. And the mods and highs were not nearly as crisp as you should have from a pair of $300 headphones. With these new studios they were perfection. A perfect balance of bass and highs that was very pleasing no matter what genre I was pumping through them. I listen to all kinds of music and put them to the test with Eveything from classical to country. And of course banged some hip hop. They sounded great in every aspect. These are beautiful to look at as well as listen to. I would Absolutley recommend these to any one who is in doubt about dropping the money on premium headphones. As said before I bought these used, but were mint. I got them for half the retail price at $159.99. But if I wasn't happy with there condition I would have not hesitated to return. And as impressed as I was I would happily pay full retail for these. They are the best all around headphone I have ever used and sound amazing. Beyond happy that I scored these perfect headphones at the price I got them for. But if your on the fence look for used ones and roll the dice. They were on sale for $179CAD (PINK ONLY) which was almost half price so I bought them. I already had them in a different colour, but decided to give those to my husband and purchase these. They are amazing for noise cancellation, and the sound is crisp and clear. I love the over ear style due to my smaller than usual ear canals which cannot accommodate many styles of ear buds. These are great for using on airplanes which is why I purchased them in the first place. I received these in the mail less than 24 hours after I purchased them which was lightning fast especially since I selected regular shipping at the check out.The only weird thing (which I wouldn't exactly call a loss) is that the charging block that came in the box is a 2 prong European style which obviously will not work in Canada.
